im sorry. but what good is it to conjecture some other ways that contribute to Itachi's fall? Overuse his abilities is enough for me. (this happen alot in Naruto) Is it that hard to believe its his end? Wasnt Itachi shielded by that monster until he was too weak to hold it and collapsed? Again, if Kishi intend to reveal someting else, he will do so in the future chapters. Right now its better to accept what is shown already.

now, there is a tiny posibility that Itach is a good brother. Maybe he wanted to or already told something to naruto (i forgot if he actually did). If he said "I will sacrifice to test sasuke's ability, then you and he will team up to defeat Madara. I will also reveal to sasuke the truth about Sharingan (so stuff about taking his eyes was just Itachi putting on a act to get sasuke to fight seriously). " Then its kinda possible.

remember when kakashi vs itachi in konoha b4?
kakashi fell into tsukuyomi becoz itachi said that kakashi don't have uchiha blood...
then for me obviously itachi using tsukuyomi on sasuke juz to test sasuke's strength or capability or whatever...

I just have to say I'm sick of all the Orochimaru references and hints that he has the chance to come back, how many times does the manga make him look dead only to have him come back again?

I was pretty happy when Kishi finally killed Orochimaru in the Sasuke fight, then extremely agitated to find Kabuto had decided to implant his cells.

It's unusal that Itachi has died, however I quite like how it ended.
In some multiplayer games sometimes when I'm low on supplies or in a tight situation and I know I'll loose the oncoming barrage I'll commit suicide to deny my friend's the satisfaction of killing me.

I think Oro's death/rebirth was more figurative than literal. Sandaime said that the white snake was a symbol of rebirth after all.

Oro is no more. Just a symbol as heartless said. Probebly part of the myth that goes well with the story.

And Artifice my man. Your skills in analyzing is incredible. Seriously, i'm gonna borrow what you said and shove it up some idiots ass for idiots who keep complaining about not seeing a good fight.

First off: I kind of hope Oro isn't dead. He is/was a good villan to have around. Also if the small snake is indeed Oro, then he would probably hit Itachi for a body since Sauske is probably going to high tail it to his group and he has already proven to have a realy strong will, where I think Itachi is about to give (or already has given) up. If this happens, I see him running into Kabuto and taking over his "new" body that has been incubated.

Secondly: I thought the ending of the fight, while anti-clamatic, was well done. I thought that Itachi was trying to reconsile as he felt his body give, and knew it would be to late. In the end, I don't think he really wanted to be hated by Sauske for what he did. Granted he did it for his own reasons, which may or may not have been of evil intent (I beleive it was).

Thirdly: So far it looks like I pegged the curse mark being destroyed! However if this is indeed true, then more then likely Oro is indeed dead. Granted we only see Sauske in a handfull of pannels, and most of these show him at the wrong angle or when he is reverting, so it could still be there. I hope it isn't as I think this has actually stunted his growth.

And last (and off topic) but not least: What would a mindless Oro clone be called?

^ you think Itachi was trying to reconcile? I thought he was just trying to act superior until the very end and annoy Sasuke for the last time. A poke on the forehead to remind him he's still the same little brother Itachi doesn't have time for.

Well, maybe it's just left up to interpretation. He could have just died upon trying to take Sasuke's eyes. lol.. funny thought.

Is any one familiar with yi gi oh? if you are there were these beat down destruction decks if i recall corectly, the idea behind it was that yo had very good and extremely strong cards the only side effect was that you have to give up life points to use them. Essentially it was like itachi, he had extremely strong techniques but they cost a lot and the point behind using them is to kill your opponent before you kill yourself. The interesting part is that there are no techniques that can stand up to those, during the whole fight we saw how itachi used tsukuyomi, amaterasu and susano all of which and especially susano who cant be taken down by regular techniques, my guess is that the reason sasuke lost is because he doesn't have an equivalent self destructing technique to own people.

God i cant wait till next chapter

@dropkerplop: We've seen stranger things happen in Naruto. Besides if indeed Itachi is dead and knew at the moment of the fall that that would be his last breath, I can easily see him saying "forgive me" or something to Sauske. Plus I think that that would truly shock Sauske, making the fact that his vengance couldn't be compleated the final nail in the coffin. Also he would be torn on how to remember his brother that way, so the emo can still be there.
