He took the characters, but he ripped an entire story, which at this point really has zero relevance to this the current story arc, for some strange reason i fell like he took a week off from the story

It's called a Homage. He is trying to make the story richer. In western comics, every teen hero goes through a Spider-Man moment. Does that mean they are ripping off Marvel or they paying tribute?

He had already payed his respects by nameing his characters after those mythological figures, but the obvious re-telling of the story goes a little too far.

Marvel wouldn't have a problem with a brief moment, but the re-telling of one of their stories would cause they some discomfort.

Here is my take on Oro's apparent death (I say apparent because of the medic guy): The curse seal has finally been removed from Sauske. To me it looked not like the hydra was going back into Sauske's body, but rather being absorbed into the sword. Also by that happening, all the power from Lvl 2 (or is it 3?) curse mark was drained too (Sauske is back to original body). There were no aparent marks left on Sauske's body, which to me indicated that the mark is gone (I will admidt that this is just theory).

Now if the curse mark is gone, and Sauske's chakra is no longer being forcefully drained from his body everytime he uses chakra (see the chapers in the Chunin exam when he gets the mark) this may mean that he actually gained some chakra back (expecially if he regained some of the Chakra from sealing Oro). At the very least it means that in the end (if he lives) his chakra controle is either going throgh the roof or the floor, depending on how you look at it (he's used to the exessive drain of chakra). This means that even if Sauske has a fraction of his normal chakra he might be able to do something unexpected to Itachi and possibaly win. In the worst case, Sauske will need to actually use some of his physical ability to dodge and then strike Itachi with a death blow (thank goodness Itachi is almost blind).

This being said, I've had enough of the fight and just want this to end.

I for one wouldn't mind Sasuke losing his cursed seal and Naruto losing his Kyubi chakra. They're just huge chakra boosts in place of writing something moderately clever. It'd be nice to see Naruto and Sasuke fight without their respective crutches but I don't think it will happen.

I have a bad feeling that they're both going to be powered up to DBZ levels. Am I the only one who finds anime and manga fights more exciting when they're between characters who aren't godlike?

it would it really would be lame. we all thought that the curse seal came from oro originally, which bond the users to him, thus making them his slaves, which was one of the reasons that the curse seals were a bad thing

Then it was revealed that the seals actually came from Juugo, which means the seal itself wasnt evil and wasnt from oro, so it was no longer a bad thing for him to keep it.

Actually Gummyworms, Oro's seal is based on research on Juugo. This means that it still is evil, and bound people to Oro. I'll agree that the source isn't evil in itself, but when Oro got his hands on it and made it a sealing jutsu (not a natural ability) he re-wrote the rules.

I also like it when the people in fights aren't always doing the DBZ thing. This is actually why I want the mark to be gone. Also the mark was always a double edged sword, and without it Sauske might actually get a reasonable power-up that makes sence. In other words, while the mark forced him to use excess chakra (and he got used to the pain/chakra use of this mark) now he might use what he is used to and get a bigger effect. Note that this isn't nessicarily a good thing though as he will get a bigger bang for his buck(imagine trying to light a candle with a lighter, but the lighter acted like a flame thrower).

Anyways, just something to think of.
