Just to give you a serious answer: Most of the character's parents seem to be mostly uninvolved with their lives by the time they graduate. Only Choji, Ino, Negi/Hinata, and Shino's parents have even been referenced so far.

It's like they live with them, crowded city and all, but the whole Ninja thing is well understood. That, and because this is Naruto, the parents were only used for their superior abilities during the Orochimaru Invasion Arc.

I wouldn't say they're uninvolved; just unincluded. Most of the children we've met have been the inheritors of their parents' ninja abilities (obviously someone had to teach them), but the lack of their appearances makes some of their connections hard to verify. But for all the people you mentioned (and Shikamaru and Kiba), they've all gained a good base of their abilities from their families.

But there is the one good theory about Sakura's family running the Konoha library (the circle emblem she wears representing a scroll)...

Anyways, I think most of the parents are left out just so Kishi can get on with the story without having to waste too much time on useless background-setting.

I was so thinking about Shikamaru and yet I didn't write him down.

Anyway, my only problem with the parents in this is the typical problem you'd hear about: "They are so much stronger than their children, and yet their missions are never mentioned and can be assumed to be less drastic than dealing with Akatsuki. Why is that?" And that's obvious.
