Based on the feedback from this thread, we've decided to create a Frequently Asked Questions thread to help people find answers to such questions without having to read through the entirety of the Q&A thread (or learn how to use the search tool - bonus!).

Here are the questions and topics I have so far. I compiled these from the Q&A thread, based partially on frequency and partially on what I thought was just plain good to have in a FAQ thread:

• A link to the Announcement and a list of what's there (rules, links to threads like the general information thread).

I think it might be a good idea to separate out some of those links, like the posting flash and whatnot (if we want to include that kind of thing, etc.). I'm not positive on this one yet.

Anyway, on to...

I think we might want to agree on the questions before we start answering them, though - let me know if you think anything here should be left out.

-Find the SJ release schedule and post it, and mention frequent double chapter releases as well.
-Maybe getting a website for the tv station releasing the eps will give you a schedule.

Edit - I may actually just start to separate them once I have the time to get this a little more organized. I plan to use the search tool rather liberally this weekend and put together some answers for the questions that have been discussed at length here. Or at least begin to organize a presentation of opinions.

I meant on: Sasuke's jutsus, Naruto's Jutsus.
Mostly Chidori vs Rasenga, Kyubi's chakra (Ying/yang sealing)
Pein's human summons, who are them? (Since we have one that is mostly a spit image of Deidara.. and such)

I've answered the questions below, to my best as of now, I don't think they are perfect I need to get some pictures and such. please feel free to add anything extra I missed or got it wrong~ (Specially spelling haha)

Pein - just who is this guy?

Its the current appointed leader of Akatsuki organization, but he still answer to the big boss, Madara.
Pein is also known by Jiraya and his real name is "Nagato", he was one his three pupils the other two are Konan (The very same partner of Pein), and Yahiko (Current missing, presumed dead and possessed by Rinnengan)
His identity is a mystery as of know, only Jiraya have solved it.

Pein's human summons, who are them?

Pein has a unique technique is that to summon humans, different from Orochimaru's Edo Tensei, as they don't require a "human sacrifice"
All of them have pins and Rinnengan just like Pein. Because of the Rinnengan they can see through each other vision. And all of them were known ninjas that fought with Jiraya.
Their connection also hold the secret to Pein Identity.

What happened to Obito? Could he be x/y/z?

Obito was crushed by a torrent of falling rocks, and slowly died.
There are speculation that Obito, is "Tobi" mostly because its his name written backward.
But Tobi. said he was "Madara", later confirmed by Itachi. How Madara survived is still unkown
Some believe that Madara lived taking over the dead body of Obito, and assuming the "Tobi" Persona.

What's the relationship between Sai and Suigetsu? Is there one?

None at the moment, but Sai said that he had a brother, and the picture book that he carries, was a gift from him. On both covers on the book there is a picture of two boys, one is Sai, the other is said brother. The book picture both brothers fighting their way to the middle where they are supposed to meet.
According to Sai the book is incomplete because his brother died, thus never reaching the middle.
Looking at the brother picture, it has an uncanny resemblance with Suigetsu, Current member of Team Hebi.
Hair color, style and face.
Some believe that Suigetsu even tho from Water village, was adopted by Danzou and befriended with Sai, later missing and being captured by Orochimaru for experimentations.

What really happened to Orochimaru? Will we see him again?

He died, and his mind is trapped on this mind transfer's dimension. Doubtful we will see Orochimaru again.
While his mind is trapped, Kabuto has implanted in himself some of Orochimaru's body party.

Why is Naruto's last name "Uzumaki"? What does his first name refer to?

Naruto's last name come from his mother Kushina Uzumaki, a Kunoichi from the Former Whirlpool Country. The name "Naruto" was given by Jiraya, after the same character on one of his book.A semi-biographical account of Jiraiya's own life. The character in the story was known for his drive and determination. For that reason Minato asked Jiraiya if he would mind if he named his own son "Naruto" after the character in the story.
Jiraya came up with the name after eating ramen, Naruto is name for a sliced stick of Kamaboko with a pink whirlpool design in the middle that is used as a topping for Ramen.

How does Naruto's seal work?

When The Fourth sealed the Nine-Tails Demon Fox he has done it with 2 Four Season Seal, one 8 Astronomical Seal System allowing the 9 Tails Demon Fox chakra to leak out from the 4 Season Seal and allow Naruto to use its chakra. But at the same time he sealed half of Kyubi's chakra away from naruto, the 'Ying' part of it.
Naruto only can tap onto the 'Yang' part of the Kyubi chakra.
Using the "Key" that Jiraya possessed, one could control naruto's seal, opening or closing it completely if that case was needed.

Naruto achieved the 4-tailed after Jiraya "opened a little" the seal.

Chidori Vs Rasengan? Which one is stronger?

Arguable on which is stronger, as we've seen upgrades on both parts. When Naruto and Sasuke used one against the other, they almost canceled each other.
Rasengan isn't a finished technique so it has the potential to be the strongest one. But so far they are equal in terms of power.

Little update:

Who is tobi? Is he Obito?

Back in CH.364 we have Tobi saying: 写輪眼の本当の力やうちはマダラの力など。
As for whether or not the character speaking is Uchiha Madara, as to this, there is no doubt. This part, このうちはマダラの力, has been construed by some to mean "this power, the power of Uchiha Madara."
They're reading it like this: この　うちはマダラの力。The way they should be reading it is like this: このうちはマダラの　力。
When この precedes the name of a person (in this case, Uchiha Madara), the person referenced is the speaker himself. It's a way for the speaker to indicate that he or she is a real big deal (in his or her mind, anyway).
And no, it's not a "vague" sentence, or one which could be read both ways: the way we're indicating here is the only way to interpret the sentence, at least as far as whether the speaker is Uchiha Madara or not. Whether Madara is possessing someone else's body or if Tobi's just a robot through which his voice comes out,is another matter altogether.

What are Akatsuki true objectives

For what pein said, they are after the bijus, so they can get a power for them to start a "war company" that will use the bijus power to create wars, and only they will have the power to stop them, thus creating a monopoly and taking over the world...
But after we've come to know that Tobi(Madara) being the real leader of Akatsuki, said that once Akatsuki achieves its objective, Sharingan shall regain its original, ostensibly more powerful form, and thus, so will he, Uchiha Madara. In other words, among the things which will regain their original form are the Sharingan's true power and his own.

It's still unclear, the fact that Naruto is unaware of his 4-tailed state means that it's not something he can control, in fact, it's not something he's expected to control, which is why Yamato was assigned to him. But we don't really have anything else.

Sometime before he was 10 years old.

He can use sand, we saw that when he shook Naruto's hand.

The answer is that we don't really know who was in the coffin and we probably never will. The "four" character was only present in the anime, not in the manga. Orochimaru insinuated that the revenants were supposed to be the sandaime's teachers, which would preclude the 4th, but this is by no means definitive proof either way.

Here’s Itachi’s individual timeline. Most have agreed Itachi joined Akatsuki while he was still in the village, circa age 11. Specific dates can be found in the Akatsuki and Itachi/Oro threads preceding and following this selection.

* When is the next chapter/episode coming out?

Chapters and episodes usually come out on a weekly basis, with breaks for Japanese National Holidays, such as Christmas and Golden Week, and breaks taken by the mangaka.

The anime’s release schedule can be monitored on wikipedia , and you can see the release dates for the upcoming episodes that have had their release dates announced. As you can see, the anime tends to release every Thursday, making exceptions for double episodes (2 episodes merged into 1), which are only released once with a break from the schedule the week before or after it.

The manga’s weekly chapters are released in Shonen Jump, and is released to the Japanese market every Monday. Because SJ is an international mag, we can usually get the raw chapter the Thursday or Friday before it is released in Japan due to pre-stocking in different countries. Then our trusty translators/scanlators do us their services and we have our chaps (usually before it comes out in Japan). Like the anime producers, the mangaka and SJ also occasionally take breaks. SJ’s breaks result in “double issues”, where the magazine released during these weeks are meant to hold for the two weeks, since the second week is a holiday for SJ. Common times for double issues are the weeks around Christmas and Golden Week (this past year’s dates of double issues have been 12/25/07 and 01/07/08, with the break weeks following these issues). * Itachi and Kisame running from Jiraiya - what happened there?

Itachi and Kisame were attempting to abduct Naruto for Akatsuki’s purposes after tricking Jiraiya, Naruto’s guardian at the time and a person the Akatsuki duo felt was too strong for them to take on, into going off with some woman. Jiraiya caught on and saved Naruto before Naruto was caught, and Jiraiya started battling the duo. He summoned them into a frog/toad impervious to fire that served as an unbreakable prison for its captives. But Itachi managed to create a hole in it using amatereasu, a MS eye technique. Kisame and Itachi used the hole to flee from Jiraiya.

* Naruto failed the academy exam three times. How does this work?

No one currently knows.

* What happened to Naruto's family? How was he raised?

None of the details are well known, but Naruto’s parents died shortly after his birth circa the last kyuubi attack. We know that he was born to Namikaze Minato, the fourth hokage, and Uzumaki Kushina.

* How does the Kage Bunshin work? What’s the difference between bunshin no jutsu, kage bunshin, and Tajū Kage Bunshin?

Bunshin no jutsu just creates illusions of clones, while Kage bunshin is a technique that creates solid body clones by splitting the user’s chakra perfectly. It has a cap on how many clones it can make though. Both of the aforementioned jutsu are common in the Naruto world. Tajū Kage Bunshin is the forbidden version of regular Kage bunsin, and doesn't have a limit on the number of clones created, so the user can pretty much kill or completely exhaust himself using it.
So, bunshin no jutsu = illusions; Kage bunshin = couple of clones; Taju kage bunshin = tens/hundreds of clones.
Note that the English translation by Viz interchanges tajuu kage bunshin and kage bunshin a lot.

* What is the significance of the Akatsuki's statue?

The statue houses and seals biju extracted by Akatsuki. The eyes on the statue that open up after each biju is placed in correspond to the specific biju and the total number of biju in the statue. In addition, the order of biju placement in the statue matters because there is a ‘balance’ that needs to be maintained to prevent the breakdown of the statue. At the moment all the biju but Naruto’s and an unknown jinchuuriki’s are sealed within the statue.

* Tengu Theory. What is this, how reliable is it?

Tengu Theory is a very popular theory by this guy who goes by the handle Yasha on NarutoCentral forums concerning the role and backstory on the Uchiha. The theory can be found here. Discussions on the credibility of the theory can be found here and here.

* Tobi - just who is this guy?

Pretty sure that Itachi was also one of the only two people who could have been Jiraiya's agent (the other being Madara), feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
