Thread: Naruto or Sasuke?

Ok, after seeing the plausibly real Kishi interview and his statement that Sasuke would predominate the next year's chapters (which already had a good chance of happening anyways), I was just curious to see how many people on ST actually like Sasuke more than Naruto (like the Japanese).

NOTE: I'm not asking whether you think an upcoming Sasuke-centered arc would be more interesting than what we've seen.

I for one have hated Sasuke ever since he turned into a jealous bitch and started the Sasuke/Naruto fight in Konoha. Naruto is the most interesting character in the series to me. But, I do think Sasuke's background provides a larger source of interest than any other character in the series.

Personally I'm much more interested in the other characters in the story (still don't know anything about Sakura!) but if I had to choose... Naruto by a sliver. Sasuke will obviously lose to Itachi (how else can you give him motive for another 50 chapters) so it'll basically be more of him crying and less of everything else. I'd rather see Naruto because I'd rather see how he's grown exactly, what Hinata will do with him, and how he treats Sakura (does he still like her or is he riding Sasuke's cock too hard to remember he has a crush on her). Naruto has a lot of potentially interesting character interactions to be seen. Will he stop chasing Sasuke long enough to train some more, how will he react to Jiraiya's apparent death, who's left for him to train under? etc.

Due to the Background history of Sasuke, The Uchiha clan, The feud with his brother and Orochimaru. I find Sasuke story more interesting. Mainly because theres alot more meat on his story then there is on Naruto's. I think we have allready seen what Narutos have to offer. We only need to see what happend with his mother, or the moment of her death. (disappearing?) Sure, Naruto can still develop, and he still needs to, since his fate is to become a hokage like his faher. Though I doubt there is goint to be any love romance between him and Sakura, if he still loves/likes her.

Sasuke is more the drama effect that adds to the mangas tension between the different kinds of characters.
Im just afraid that after Itachis death, there wont be much left, unless Tobi is somehow the cause of his pain, which I doubt.

Ever Sasuke said "I need to kill a certain man" to Kakashi during the perios where they first met, It has added to the mystery of the Uchiha clan, which is also why I find him more interesting then Naruto. Naruto is too much a goofball to I can take him "seriously" like Sasuke.

Even though Naruto had plenty of 'struggle moments, gettin outta the "looser position".

i've always liked naruto better, even back when sasuke was cool. (before the whole... leaving konoha thing.)

naruto is the only reason i read this manga.


To me Sasuke's story is boring. I'm just waiting for Naruto to be like, "Forget Sasuke, I have better things to do." but he never will. so i don't even know. @_@

So if Sasuke dies.. for me that wouldn't be the worst thing. ^_^"

well, sasuke doesn't seem to whining now eh? heh, sasuke finally fights itachi and there strength difference is close but Naruto, he's...more interesting.

I like to read about other characters too about there history, there past and future. And shikamaru is one of the most interesting characters in Naruto canon.

But if i were to chose between naruto and sasuke, i can't. I really can't see Naruto without sasuke in the picture. Do you?

Naruto and sasuke compliment each other. Dark and light, Yin And Yang or whatever other people come up with. Sasuke is like a feul to naruto and Itachi to sasuke. Take something away and they got nothing left.

Sasuke and naruto are amazing characters with amazing potential, as is other characters like Shikamaru and Lee.

Centering around other characters is great for a manga rather than just centering on just one character like many other mangas do. It adds depth to the story, not to mention from the other characters point of perspective and where they stand.

gotta go with naruto... he connects my two manga loves, demons and ninjas, i only wish he had a slightly more sasuke-ish character (skill wise i mean)

So far this manga has been based on Sasuke all the time.

They should just name the seires, "Sasuke! The Thunder Chronicles!"

Sasuke by far; Naruto is your typical shounen main character who never gives up, and achieves a good deal of his/her feats by plot armour.

I like Sasuke because his story has always been quite dark and interesting - the massacre of his family, and the secrets behind the Uchiha clan. I also like him because, although he pretends to be emotionless, and may be a douche at times, he is actually a nice person. A reason I like him more than Naruto is that unlike the latter, Sasuke is a flawed character; he's arrogant, and full of complexes, whereas Naruto (even if he started as an loser/idiot) was and still is quite perfect: he was/is an overtly good person, he was/is almost always correct, he managed to change others into his ways, etc.

I'm not saying Naruto is a bad character by the way; I find him interesting as well. In this manga, one can say Naruto is the light, and Sasuke would be somewhat like the darkness. I find some examples quite fun and ironic; e.g. Sasuke is trying to kill his only brother; Naruto, on the other hand, is trying to save his only brother. You cannot have one without the other, and I like how this manga seems to follow two paths (Naruto's path, and Sasuke's path).
