Thread: Shippūden: Latest Anime Episode Discussion [Episode 40+]

I thought most of it seemed unfamiliar^. Notice how at the end though the quality was getting better with Sasuke and Itachi.

I THINK that they already animated every scene with the two with the same animation company. Looks good though.

As psyched out as I was getting over the animated version of the fated encounter between Sasuke and Itachi, I gotta say that I vastly enjoyed reading it over watching it. Especially when Itachi flipped out. Not sure how it's gonna be next week, but at this point, I believe it would've been more worthwhile to pull out all the stops on the Jiraiya vs Pein, simply because it outweighs in terms of action sequences and potential filler points.

Some fillers. Lets watch Madara and his younger brother do the same fight loop for a minute. Fucking ridiculous. I was bored through the whole thing. Out of the 45 min of it I only watched maybe 10.

A shit load of flashbacks with about 3min of extra shit added then some shuriken throwing for about 2mins, this was never one of my favorite fights in the manga and now it's just been mad even more boring. It's only just started and I already want it to be over, why is it that when I see Sasuke fight I just want it to end you would think that someone with about 9 or so jutsus could keep me entertained.

Bring on the Naruto Sage training and Pein Battle. Which aint gonna be happening anytime soon, because there gonna have to put in some fillers soon.

I was lookin forward to this battle but now not so much. Something about actually watching him fight isn't as appealing as compared to reading it. I was lookin forward to the Deidara fight as well but that was a dissappointment as well.

The Deidara fight was actually better than this. The fluid animation was nice. I am looking forward to seeing Sasuke get his ass kicked for 2 more episodes though.

The fighting was no different from the manga, yet I remember it being a lot more enjoyable in the manga version. Especially the Shuriken. Is it the animation?

On the flip side my frustration at Kishimoto's very obvious hard-on for Sasuke(against Kakuzu all Naruto got was to spam the same jutsu till it worked and now his rival is popping new shit out of his ass whenever he's at a disadvantage?) is gone in this version. He seems a lot less uber... like the episode in general.

They really dropped the ball on this fight. So far it's been punch, punch, kick, glare for a minute, then talk for four minutes. Then the throwing shuriken showdown was poorly animated with flailing limbs that just look outrageous. Next Sasuke throws an electrically charged Fuuma shuriken and it takes like ten seconds of the same two pictures zooming in before it actually cuts through the Itachi clone! What's up with that? I am really disappointed in this fight so far, hopefully it gets better.

I was always sort of put off when Itachi pulled out his crazy face in the manga. But the anime is even worse because Itachi's screaming sounds so unnatural. It really doesn't suit him to be shrieking about becoming free from his bonds and constraints. His voice goes way too high. Yuck!

One more thing... WHY IS IT SO GODDAMN NOISY PULLING SOMEONE'S EYE OUT?! It sounds like Itachi's breaking Sasuke's eyesocket! What's making that horrible cracking and gushing sound? I mean sure, I expect some gushing sounds with eye fluid, but what's cracking and splintering? Is Itachi taking a jackhammer to Sasuke's skull off-screen?

It's called dramatic effect.

This is a fantasy manga about ninjas, demons and big ass jutsus but you complain about the sound of someone gouging out an eye being unrealistic.

That reminded me, Kishi has a bad habit of dropping the ball on cliffhangers. If he'd shown the eye removal scene at the end of one chapter and then revealed in the next chapter it was just an illusion it would have had readers on their toes. Instead he showed both the scene and the revelation in the same chapter, taking away a lot of impact. The anime's followed his depiction, but at least they added that sound effect to make viewers think of eye damage.
