Thread: Pain's true identity

So, does anyone else think that we should know or be familiar with Pain's true identity, even if we can't figure out who it is right now?

I think the fact that Jiraiya did know all the shinobi with the Rinnegan and that since all the shinobi seem to be puppets means that someone who has been monitoring Jiraiya for a long time or really close to Jiraiya is the real Pain.

Yeah, but with all the specualtion we could make, it'll probably be someone completely new to the story.

However, I'm just going to take a stab at who it could be.

Probably that bald student of his, lol

I'm really not getting what's happening right now.

All the ideas I can come up with are incredibly stupid, I really hope that Kishimoto manages to pull this off well.

^I'm coming up with stupid ideas too. I considered a Orochi (close friend, wanting to more than human, scientific expertise to make the studs and spear)/Sasori (the puppets) duo after reading the chap, but that sounds so retarded.

It's very likely will be someone we don't know, or don't have good contact..

Kurenai (Because would be fun, and she's pregnant with evil little steward!)

There are also two ways to look at why Jiraiya just realized who/what Pain is, 1) Pain is tied directly to Jiraiya in some way 2) the fact that these bodies were used has nothing to do with them meeting Jiraiya in the past, he met them because of the prophecy which allowed him to figure things out on his own.

One thing I have noticed that may be pretty important:

The prophecy was given when Jiraiya was relatively young, specifically, you can notice that he met Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko when he was significantly older. And since he met Fuuma Pain when he was so young, this basically eliminates Nagato or Yahiko as possible masterminds of the "collect shinobi Jiraiya knows and get them interested in body piercing and weird color contacts" plan (if it is in fact a plan). They wouldn't know of any connection to the Fuuma ninja, since Jiraiya himself apparently forgot about the guy until just now.

Another possibility is that the bodies were collected by Pain (who or whatever that is) randomly, but because of the "travel the world" part of the prophecy, Jiraiya was fated to gain knowledge of each of them, which is what allows him to figure out who or what Pain is at this moment. Unfortunately, this doesn't account for what’s actually happening and tells us nothing about Jiraiya just realized.


Trying to explain what he just figured out is beyond me though, it's already hard trying to explain how he figured it out.

i don't know who is pain, but i've an idea. always the same... tobi and pain have the same necklace.
itachi have is own reminding the sharingan
and nor tobi nor pain nor kisame seems to be against itachi who is acting alone.
my conclusion, pain is related with danzou, anbu's root. itachi is under danzou's order, i think

It would totally suck if it actually DID turn out to be yondaime.. but then thats just me being pessimistic

Zetsu might have a hand on collecting the bodies for Pain.

I don't belive he was much yonger when he fought Fuuma's ninja, from meeting with Yahiko.

But thoses ninja need to have some kind of connection not only with him having fighting him before, because he figured who is him too fast. There is got to have someone.

Some stuff poped in my head:

Prisioner dude said himself: "He is said to have blood from fuuma's Clan" refering to pain
Jiraya mentioned something that Miamato discovered, thats why he sealed the 9tails in Naruto.. probably about the rinnengan
Yahiko said some crazy stuff about: Making them suffer the same pain so they can understand - just to prove he is a nut case
Jiraya also said that Nagato could use all 6 elemental jutsus at maximum efficiency. - that the current pain isn't nagato

I'm thinking on some kind of machine that make Yahiko transfer Nagato's Rinnegan to someone, and then controlling that person..
