Thread: Is it just me or...

Is it just me or the once so UBER-HAX-ZOMG characters of naruto are now quite underpowered. I'm not talking about age and how they get older they end up becoming weaker, but back before the timeskip Kakashi was so kick ass, pulling out moves from under his mask to wipe the floor.
Sure after the timeskip, Kakashi has been pulling off some new sexy moves, but they don't seem to have the same "wow" factor to them anymore.

Have people like Kakashi been overshadowed and underpowered by the development of the more central characters in the plot, highlighting their growth as to these old-timer's real skill? Or is it maybe because pre-timeskip Kakashi's only been dealing with small fries like Zabuza whilst baby sitting team 7, and now it may seem that a more potent enemy lies ahead of them?

Well, actually they haven't became under-powered... Its just another character has a bit greater technique that are effective against an opponent..

I mean take for example Sasori, he defeated the Kazekagi, but not effective against the old-hug + sakura...

I think its the technique that counts of how to find the weak points..
Well as current manga(Ch 37 Jiraiya, found how to fight against Pein one-on-one rather face 3-to-one... IMO.. ;p

I dunno about these characters seeming any more underpowered than before. To me, Kakashi lost his sense of godly-ness the minute he KO'ed after the 1st Zabuza fight.

Akatsuki is dropping surprisingly easily though. No one seems immortal anymore since all our familiar characters seem to be contending well against the people we would expect to be their biggest threats.

im kinda dissapointed in the way the akatsuki are dropping like flies, i had come to expect more from them.

i dont think they are underpowered, only i think they are trying to highlight the younger generations abilitys because the older generation cant protect the village forever and it may just be we are expecting more from them that there not delivering.

i mean... when the focus use to be completely on team 7, i had the impression that Kakashi was seen as like a god. Now this impression i had of him kinda blew away when his praise towards the coming generation especially Naruto kinda gave his position in the manga a set back.
Well thats the impression i'm getting.
