Thread: Naruto... dragonball Z in disguise?

okay, hey guys. new to forums. just to make one thing clear. i love both dbz and naruto. but going on the net rewatching and rereading old dbz manga/anime got me wondering.. why is naruto somewhat like this.

proof:
naruto has the same colors as son goku (ssj1)

Goku and naruto:
notice the same colors, orange and blue clothing, yellow hair
they also have the same personality.
okay time for vegeta and sasuke
okay, again, same colors. black hair, blue and white clothing. same personality aswell

and SHOCK! same relationship too?! insane! (vegeta hates goku, sasuke hates naruto.. while goku likes vegeta, and naruto likes sasuke)

okay, vegeta and goku = last remaining saiyans (with exceptions such as raditz, goku's family, vegeta's family, nappa, broly (this guy kicks ass), that guy that brought vegeta to planet vegeta to fight broly)
naruto and sasuke = last remaining of their clan (with exceptions such as itachi, or tobi (unknown so far))

next thing i wanna point out
goku's most powerful attack : spiritbomb... looks ALOT like rasengan. or vice versa... both blue, both circular, and yeah.

we were also shown that rasengan can change size, (manga 377, jiraiya's "ultimate" rasengan was HUGE. but fatty sucked it up) same with spirit bomb. shown by that pic above, the spirit bomb was small, but in the buu saga, final battle, it was one huge mo fugga.

now time for the ojiisans (grandpa's) :P
naruto was taught by jiraiya, which is a pervo and kinda old. While goku was taught by master roshi, which is old and is a pervo. smiliarites? i think so.
they also teach them a blue attack (naruto:rasengan, goku:kamehameha)

okay.... ki and chakra
ki in japanese means spirit. so yes it exists. Chakra, well exists. both are spiritual energies.

vegeta surrenders himself to become stronger than goku to babidi(his dad's name is bibidi... bibidi babidi buu x3) okay anyways.. sasuke surrenders himself to oro to become stronger than itachi... hmm...

i think this is all the stuff i have for now... i guess this is true cuz kishi admired toriyama. like kishi even drew goku when he was young :P

you may be true for most of the similarities
but for some of them, i think you're just overreacting .this stuff that exists in 60% of all manga. ........make it 68%

Nearly all Shonen manga have inputs of Dragonball.
Since Akira Toriyama is some sort of godlike mangaka for tons of new generation mangakas, a lot of them copied ideas or concepts of him for their own series.

first of all.. bleach is the new DBZ <.<
second... it might be true that there are certain similiarities (i won't deny them) since kishimoto himself STATED that he was influenced by toriyamas work (as was kishimitos brother, the mangaka of 666Satan)
but there some major differences that just don't make naruto the second coming of dbz (at least for now...)
e.g. the fights.. kishimoto brings a ton of fighters who are more or less equally skilled, making the whole story more variegated
and it's not like every opponent has to be beaten by naruto himself <.<
the fights aren't even as long as in dbz... really dbz' fights sucked... kishimoto also tries to loosen them by coming up with sudden events that somehow either interrupt them or make them more interesting by creating some sort of connections to other characters
it's not like freezer, cell or buu were somehow connected to goku in some way (yea freezer killed the saiyans.. right..., and cell is a clone of the the Zfighters and freezer... how interesting is that *sarcasm* and buu!! he's just buu.... and... he's there because... of some stupid reason!! ... actually for no reason at all...)
nah i'm not going further in the details

BUT lemme say this: NOONE in the whole narutoverse is able to destroy the whole planet with just one attack! THAT still annoys me about dbz.. about the end of dbz anyone could've destroyed the planet with some dumb energy blast Oo
that just sucked!

Not to metion that Naruto is a lot more interesting. There's always a new twist in Naruto, whereas in DBZ you kinda knew what was going to happen. Like Razagal said you can find dbz similarites in almost all manga. For example, Inu-Yasha aka The Never Ending Story. The characters easily come back to life, and there are so many pointless battles, and powerups. Until you can't really tell how that powerup really benifited the character, except to perform 1 task.

And nearly EVERY story told by mankind is a ripoff of the mythical "The way of the hero".
-> Travel to the east
-> Dragonball
-> All other shonen mangas.

omg hxh, naruto, DBZ, bleach all have some mystical energy (nen, chakra, ki, reiatsu) and power-ups ! they must've all ripped off each other !!11

the formula for shounen manga has been around ever since people learnt how to tell stories. there will be similarities between any two mangas of the same type (in this case, shounen).
