Wow..you have wayyyyyy too much time on your hands to be pondering the cirriculum of Konoha Academy. Plus we've only seen a pert of a few classes. Maybe that was a light day of school. It's a manga/anime where they summon giant animals from another dimension. Your thinking way too hard about it lol.

I appreciate the constructive criticism good or bad, I am actually surprised that i did not get flamed as much as possible considering i was writing this during a class lecture on educational psychology while watching episode 1 of naruto. Somewhere along the lecture i was thinking, that the learning process of konoha is really messed up.

Thats because you were making a serious argument rather than making stupid or redundant threads.

But as for the thought process you mentioned, can't that be applied to general education as well? There are several psychologic inadequacies with the education system as it is. Its a little hard to expect an ideal learning environment in a fake world (unless that world is some kind of utopia) when the real world has not attained such a thing.

I think using iruka as an example of Konoha's academy is a bad example. after all kakashi graduated by age 5,went to chunin by age 6, and jounin by the same age most kids are becoming genin these days. granted times were different with a high demand for shinobi on the war front but i think the idea is to let kids be kids and learn from experience to prevent another itachi or orochimaru by exposing kids too much too early on.

Please lay off on the spelling. obviously, he doesnt care about it. But in all seriousness, its not like education is the main focus of this manga. Otherwise, they can teach something about moral values, before teaching them how to battle (something like never go killing people in your clan, its ok to destroy other clans, etc). This goes all the way back to the case of Jiraiya and Pain (one day a master, always a master), if not further. While that is my opinion, we cant expect any world to be perfect in all aspects, so we can always expect kids to go bad sometime, but that isnt an excuse to be irresponsible when you try to educate ppl. What more can be said since Naruto has only succeeded in entertaining, i suppose given the amount of fans, it would be difficult to approve of Naruto for educational purposes, i mean for science, psychology, education, and whatnot, the exception is clearly learning how to draw/writing manga.
Killing time while waiting for the next chapter. OnePiece, that is.

Konoha's ninja's are very soft. Some other villages have mass killers by the time they are 10.

um...*mumbles complaints about spelling errors and overall incoherency of the first post*...

let's think about this from another point of view, and someone might have already said this. but if really naruto was educated from birth, i'm sure he'd already be a pretty awesome ninja from the very start of the manga--therefore you just wouldn't have the same sort of growing and maturation story arc. the character of naruto would be harder to identify with, so overall it'd detract from the plot.

and honestly, we read manga for a bit of the fantastical and the unbelievable anyways. nothing is realistic, even in movies. it's all for entertainment. just roll with it. I mean yes, you have a point in that if konoha is just a war machine to pump out ninjas then their education system is flawed. but the overall story would lack dimension and it wouldn't be as interesting for us as the reader.

I don't get it, why should anyone care? I would normally go into depth in order to break argument, but your grammar is way, way too broken for me to penetrate too much into your post.

Let me just say this. If you're seriously trying to compare our society's education system to that of a society teaching their kids to become efficient murderers, stop. I shouldn't even have to explain why.

May those who accept their fate be granted happiness; to those who defy it, glory.
