    Exclamation Sasuke..REALLY old school

    Hello everyone...*clears throat*

    I just stumbled upon this interesting amv entitled (In arabic) "The Adventures of Sasuke". I don't really know what the anime was originally called, but its the content in the opening theme that's interesting. Mute it, cus, even by Arabic standards, the theme music is lame as hell.

    Not really all that weird. Sasuke is the generic ninja name for Asia. Be that all Saksuke's are named after "Sasuke Suratobi" the best known of the ten brave of the sengoku period.

    ^Its not the name that got me. Its the content in correlation with the name. I was going to ask if this might've been Sasuke's inspiration. Thanks for the link though. It supports that.

    It's possible - the three sennin were named after characters in a Japanese legend (and I think they were ninja in in, too). It's not surprising that there is a Sasuke in Naruto, either - he wouldn't be the first. Heck, I haven't seen any Sasuke's in anime or manga who weren't ninja. Also, maybe some legends make a mention of lightning powers - iirc Sasuke in Samurai Deeper Kyo also used lightning-based attacks (maybe because of the sword), even though among the Sanada Ten Braves it was supposed to be Saizo who was the "magic" ninja.

    Anyway, this looks oddly familiar to something I've seen, but it must've been ages ago.

    Since the manga is very well connected to legend etc. is possible, but probably in a different form....
