Thread: rasengan vs. hakke kuusho (not hangeki)

do you think that the rasengan was inspired by the hyuuga clan's kaiten?

same concept (spinning of chakra) but different way of implementation (body vs. hand(s))

also, do you think that naruto could learn a kaiten-like ability or possibly neji, learning the rasengan since the hakke kuusho and hakke hangeki are like a variance of the rasengan.

call me random but i just wanted to ask.

I suppose it's possible for a ninja to learn kaiten since it seems like plain chakra form minipulation like a bigger but less destructive rasengan. I can see Neji learning rasengan. I'm not sure about Naruto learning kaiten or one of it's variations, though.

Another question would be if Neji could add an element to power up his Kaiten. He has to know at least two since he's a Jonin.

Nope, Kakashi just said that jonin typically had at at least 2, it's not a requirement of any sort.

Its likely possible to learn the Kaiten, however, theres not much point for a non-hyuuga to learn it. The thing about kaiten is you spin at such a speed that your eyes cant follow, and while your blocking the attacks your enemies make at you, you lose their position and essentially what theyre actually doing, such as forming the seals for a jutsu that could penetrate it. Additionally, it wouldnt be nearly as effective, because only the hyuuga (so far as we know) can release chakura from all the poors in their body, whereas most ninja seem to only really be able to do it from hands/feet/mouth. Im positive Neji could learn the rasengan since he is very adept at chakura control.

As for adding an element to the kaiten. I doubt it, it seems to me that it takes a very intense amount of concentration to spin at that speed, release chakura so that it formulates a shield, and to use the byakugan to see his surroundings. If it is possible, its likely hed pass out after doing it, because he doesnt have a vast amount of chakura like naruto does. Plus its utility would be limited since he can only use it when theyre next to him and he cant really move from that one spot, I think he should develop the spinning top kaiten first :P.

i could see neji using himself as a weapon. i wonder, run at them and then do kaiten to deflect them and stuff. that would be funny.

it could be like when kiba and akamaru used getsuga.

neji would have it all. close range, mid-range, long range and all or nothing mode.

oh yeah, addressing the question about neji adding an element to his kaiten.

if neji can't use it with his kaiten because of the strain that it would cause him, couldn't he possibly do this with his hakke kuusho/hangeki? the kaiten does have a lot of variables and may drain him, but wouldn't adding an element to his hakke kuusho/hangeki be a lot easier, since it's basically just his hands?

with neji's chakra control, he could do a lot of things - like be a medical ninja, if he wanted to.

side note:

imagine if hinata turned out to be a medical ninja after the time skip, and since she has awesome chakra control, she busted out of her shy phase in battle and went uber ownage mode and destroyed the ground like sakura/tsunade. :P

The rasengan and hakke kuusho are way different. I don't really see the relation between the two.

The hakke kuushos were developed to cover the byakugan's blindspot and provide a good defense. The rasengan was created to make a small, concentrated offensive move that was powerful. Their purposes are quite opposite, even if their appearances are similar.

Kuushou = Vaacum palm (english dub) where he send a pressure wave, he did against Kisame.

You must be talking about Kaiten.
They might seem the same concept, but the very basic objective are totaly oposite.
Kaiten, is a defensive move, where you expel chakra to parry an attack
Not only that, it use a large ammount of chakra for it.


Rasengan, is an direct attack move, that is nearly self sustaing and use somewhat alot less chakra then Kaiten, simply because once its made, you can keep the rasengan out as long you wish, oposed to kaiten where you got to keep pumping a giant ammount of chakra to spin.


Also the rotation is totaly diferent, Kaiten only spin one direction
So even if you make a miniature Kaiten to Rasengan size, it wouldn't be effective.

Lastly if you tried to Maximize Rasengan to Kaiten size, it wouldn't be able to be used, as Rasengan is FULL of chakra, spinning on all directions..
The chakra spinning inside would hurt YOU.
Kaiten is just a skin of chakra

Only thing they have in common, is they only use only chakra(non elemental) and no seals.
