I'm really hopeful for his return, but its just one of those things that seems either to be concluded (no return) or on the back burners for now (to return in a moment of complete surprise).

seems it would be a waste of time to bring him back since he can be defeated by sasuke (when he is in a weakened state at least) though he might be back cause of what kabuto said when he last met naruto. i dont want him to make a return at all.

^ Sasuke maybe, but in Kabuto's case, it's just a graft, like stealing someone's shoe (except that he stole and implanted various body parts).

Well, I nearly quit reading Naruto when Orochimaru died. Honestly hes the best developed villain in the series and hes just so much more interesting a villain than anyone else.. Itachi was cool back when he owned Kakashi and Kurenai but its been a long time and its gotten stale.
That being said, I really hope that if he reemerges it be from Sasuke because Im one of the few Kabuto fans out there and I really think that it would be a waste to have him just up and dissapear and change into Orochimaru. And besides, it was only the flesh of Orochimaru that he absorbed, whereas his mind is probably still somewhere in Sasuke. The way I took it is he was going to overcome what was corrupting his body and become a powerful new enemy.. maybe a good guy Iono. Sasuke has no purpose once Itachi either dies or the conflict is resolved, hell just be there as measuring stick for Naruto. Plus... Orochimaru with the Sharingan would kick some serious ass.

I was a Kabuto fan...
Before it's was revealed that he actually was Orochimaru's bitch and didn't really have any ulterior motives...
