Thread: Kishimoto and Fanfiction?

Where does Kishimoto get his ideas? They all seem similar to fanfiction. Like the Fourth being Naruto's father was a huge discussion at the beginning of the manga, now he made him the father. People were saying the girl in Akatsuki (Konan) is the teammate of the Fourth and yet Pein and Konan were teammates of the Fourth considering they called Jiraiya sensei. So does Kishi steal his ideas from fanfiction and thats how he creates his stories or is it just a BIG coincidence?

You're not the brightest star out there. The reason that much fanfiction is similiar to the real story is because they are fanfictions based on the real story. It's just the result of good predicting. Kishimoto doesn't change the plot if he read a good doujinshi. He comes up with some of the details in the manga after hand, but I believe stuff like Yondaime being the father are information he has known himself since the beginning of the series. It just haven't been important to add yet. When creating a story you usually have a major idea of the most important subjects and the main storyline. A lot of fans can predict much of that along the way.

Naruto is a a son of 4rth is obvious from the very beginning, you claim that kishi stole the idea from the fans <- that is just wrong. I agree with Ryoga, it's just the result of good predicting.

on the other hand, i think you should have posted this at "kishimoto at the movies" or whatever that thread is called as an observation or something, since we were diiscussing creativity and plagiarism. an entire thread about "stolen ideas from fanfics" is a bit...overreacting.

dude i think a writer who steals ideas from fanfics is low . And theres no way Kishi is that low.

I think that most of the major plot elements have been thought through in the very early parts of the manga or even before the beginning of the manga. Sure, I'm as annoyed as you that Konan and Pain seem to know Jiraiya, but that doesn't mean its necessarily overdrawn.

As for the technicality about fanfiction, Kishimoto is a mangaka making a published fiction manga. It wouldn't be termed a fanfiction and it couldn't be a stolen fanfiction considering, well, he created the plot and the situations in the manga that fanfics go from.

dude is like movies there arent a lot of new ideas, so series get predictable and so we can predict and say what will happen by knowing a bit, like a soap opera *throws a popcorn and catch it with mouth*

He is aways throwing us some theories and obivious coincidences..

I wouldn't off the bat say they are related, but for now Kishimoto will more likely stay as "coincidence" until he gets some feedback on how his fan reacted to the news. If he see it was a bad move he just make it a pure coincidence..

If he sees fit, for the history he will make the other way around.

And "Sensei" isn't ONLY for teachers you know.

Like Sharingan said its used for writers too (artists,novelists,musicians)
and for martial arts instructors.

Yeah, Sensei is also used to show respect, so it could mean that Pein repects Jiraiyas strength or knowledge, or something..

Why cant we just discuss stuff that already happened. Say if you dont understand something, or talk about characters that we have enough information to discuss. prediction threads, including theory threads that are actually about predictions, are retarded. Sure iam impatient as to how little each chapter reveal, and waiting a week sucks big balls...but i dont think thinking far ahead helps anyone enjoying the story better.

You can argue: well we have a picture of the bald student, and here we have Pain calling Jiraya teacher (in whatever sense) is evident of their relationship...But really, Kishi is treating this manga like a soap...he can always turn things around. When that happen you can only say to urself "aww crap." and still read the manga cause you are hooked.
