^ Yeah, I've actually wondered about that too. I don't remember seeing anything in the manga that suggested his vision was bad.

^ That's really it, though? That statement is just as loaded as his saying that Naruto has surpassed him. I'm sure Kishi would've devoted more to the issue than that.

And it doesn't seem like it's having much of an effect, considering how Kakashi and Co. struggled with the Ita-Clone.

mostly it's Itachi's rather blank gaze. And his seemingly constant Sharingan use. Many times when you see pictures of him talking he seems to be gazing off into the sky or lately the rain and when he does he doesn't seem to be about to blink or the least be normal. So many think this is a sign of his blindness. As far a plot related info. Kakashi has said rather famously that the use of the Sharingan tends to worsen your normal eyesight through eyestrain. And of course the MKS is much more taxing. So by logic Itachi's near constant use signals that he is likely going if not currently completely blind.

^ Hmm...well, that makes sense. But in a way, that would make him even more impressive, because he has enough chakra density and control to use the Sharingan as a substitute. And he still a top-tier character. So I wonder if there's anyone on Konoha's side who can push him enough to exploit that weakness, if it even exists (besides the Sannin, anyway).

(On a side note, that's a great quote in your sig. And Chad is my favorite character in Bleach.)

Itachi completely blind I seriously doubt that. The reason the author does'nt give Itachi too much personality is too keep him intersting and mysterious.

Yeah thank Tousen, he just hit it on the head with the post I took that from. And Chad is great, he's second on my list, but he is great.

    ^ Really? Who's first?

Magi - I agree, mostly because I don't think you could use the Sharingan if you were TOTALLY blind. But that's just speculation on my part.

    Maybe he is about 20/140
(remembering that 20/200 is the cutoff point for Legal Blindness in USA) That doesn't mean he can't see anything.. just he have serious trouble doing it
