Seriously though, I've always liked Sasuke. I didn't find him to be emo because the way I see emo is that you make a big deal out of every little thing. All of his "negative" emotion focused on one thing. His brother killed their entire clan and left him alone because he wasn't worth killing. Something like that will screw your head up good.

But Sasuke was never really bad with people. It's just that his reputation as a genius/prodigy/Uchiha usually preceded him and as a result people would usually either gun for him or try to hang onto his jock. That's probably why he and Naruto ended up getting along so well after a while. Naruto didn't sweat him and it made him feel somewhat normal.

As for the liking & caring for his teammates thing, he showed more care for Team 7 than he ever has for Suigetsu, Jugo & Karin. The fight with Haku, trying to feed Naruto after the training with the bells (where Kakashi poked Naruto in the ass with the ULTIMATE destructive jutsu) and I'm sure there is other stuff I'm forgetting. And Naruto was his BEST FRIEND. You gotta like someone to honestly call them that. These other 3 are more like tools that he doesn't have beef with....yet.

And stop hating on Itachi. Sure he's a homicidal, phycho who massacred his entire family. Sure his new best friend seems to be a walking fish. Sure he's slowly going blind. Sure he paints his fingernails purple. But....um...what was my point again?

Besides, If Naruto can become more mature and competent in 3 years, why shouldn't Sasuke? He is a genius after all.
i totally agree, but your also forgetting that he not only saw his parents (as well as the rest of the clan) lying dead at the hands of his brother (supposedly) but he was also forced to relive the experience over and over again which would drive anyone to their limits, especially someone as young as sasuke (cant remember how old he was, i think he was 9 years old) not only that but he had it happen again when he met itachi and kisame when he was older. i mean that would mess anyone up

I can't say I always liked Sasuke, but Tousen's right on the mark. Sasuke is way too proactive to be emo, and his intentions are based on VERY believable circumstances. And I agree with the OP that he's much more interesting now.

As to his interaction with Hebi, I think that's more of a necessity. With Team 7, he was forced to be in the team, but grew close to them over time. But Hebi is a group bonded by the separate intentions of each of it's members, which all just happened to intersect. So they may grow on one another as the story progresses, but I don't think it'll be the same as with Team 7.

Sasuke is as gay as ever... won't like him, will never like him..., and it seems like the author is making him more uber and in order to make him more uber they got to bring out more uber badasses like madara to show us..., /sigh... I was hoping sasuke did die in the other chapter... >.>

^ Well...not really...I mean, what's gay about him? He's not very flamboyant or feminine or anything-and even then, he still hasn't slept with any guys (as far as we know). If we're going to get technical, then I'd say he's asexual because he's shown no physical attraction to anyone.

Well, he did get kissed by Naruto. But if anything that only speaks about Narutos way of life.

^That says something about both of them. 1) Naruto is retarded enough to get in a position where he was likely to be knocked towards Sasuke or off the table and 2) Sasuke wasn't smart enough to prevent Naruto from getting that close (even though he could).

^ Uh...yeah...weren't they still Academy stundents? That really doesn't prove anything...

Personally, I don't think the sexual orientation of the characters is that important. Most of the (potential) pairings aren't a big factor in the story, anyway.

If anyone didn't notice my post had some sarcastic tones to it. As anything that happens the first 5 minutes of an anime/ first 5 pages of a manga when it happens just to set a relaxed mood is serious.

Even though Sasuke is proactive, I still don't like him too much. I can understand his motivations and the effect of the trauma he has suffered, but he should have listened to Kakashi when he told him to give up revenge. Kakashi clearly knew something about revenge (which will probably be revealed soon I hope) and Sasuke will end up getting hurt in his mission (whether he succeeds or fails) .

yeah but the fact that he didnt listen for me adds some realism, as a person doesnt just give up on something like this, instead it eats away at them and they do nothing but run through it over and over again in their mind, its not just something that you can suddenly let go of even if you would be happier in the end.
