What happen when a summoning dies???

Also does that give naruto an edge over sasuke??

When something dies it goes to soul society, unless its really bad, then it goes to hueco mundo....

Its a good question. Probably once the creature dies it can't be summoned anymore. I think that snake symbol fading on the scroll was a sign of Manda dying rather than showing a trait of Orochimaru or something like that.

Eh, in some works of fiction killing a summons banishes it from your world for a while. It doesn't actually die, it just returns to its world (or dimension, or whatever) and can't be summoned for a period of time (100 years, in the work I'm basing this on). A recovery period makes sense to me.

Or Manda could be dead, forever. But either way the important thing is that I don't think Sasuke will be able to summon him anymore.

I think that would depend on what the summons in Narutoverse are. If they happen to be spiritual beings, then it most likely is still alive. However, if it is not a spirit, but some sort of living being, that lives in another time and space, but that is able to appear in the current universe due to the contract it has, then it, most likely, is dead.

We cannot tell for sure if summons die when they are killed, in Ame... Narutoverse.

My bet is on it being dead, though.

Going from what we have seen of the summons pre/post timeskip/colour pages all the summons age and thus grow so I will assume one of the other snakes will take the place of manda. that is just pure speculation of course

according to the the story a summon is a blood contract with a being from a different dimension or something.

So technically it's a living thing that you are just bringin over to your own world to help you. So manda should definetly be dead, but imo i think Sasuke didnt really consider him useful at all, so he didnt mind killing him, and Manda's probably replaceable.

also who's not to say that there isnt another snake even stronger than Manda was?

manda was supposedly the biggest and strongest of the snakes, but as X-evo said, another snake will probably take his place eventaully

Manda should be out of history, but that won't stop Sasuke summoning snakes..

There are plenty just about strong as Manda.. Manda was just.. smarter
