Thread: Shippūden: Episode 20

meh...it was ok. Still not much happening though. Veoh has a video up too.

Soon I'll start losing interest in Naruto as much as I've already did with Bleach. True that the manga is keeping a good standard (and that's where bleach fails), however the anime is completely worthless in visualizing what the manga could've been turned into. And I blame the producers for that. First of all, the main character Naruto (duh) doesn't have a vocabulary, note that he doesn't have it in the manga either but well, guess the creator still wants him to be numb and not interesting at all. Secondly, the producers themselves don't think about what they're creating in this anime. At the moment it all about dragging everything out as long as possible.
Why do I say such a thing? Lets go to the manga chapter that this episode is based on: They (Sakura & Granny) stand infront of Sasori and charges forward, he attacks with his needles which they dodge and his "missile" comes right after.
This is the first real failure of this episode, instead of a short volley of needles followed by the missle they have to make it 100000 needles which takes quite the time to dodge. All needles are launched from his mouth. Why the hell don't they split up nullifying the attack! The answer to that in the manga is that they don't have time before the missile comes, it's a combo from sasori. However in the anime they have to turn it into: I attack, then you attack, then it's me again etc. No sign of intelligence in the fight that can be seen in the manga.
Sure there will certainly be remarks from someone that the reason why they don't split up is because he might have hidden traps, or that they don't want Sasori to find out Granny's trick. To the first one: They're already in combat where they have to adapt to whatever traps comes out. Second one: He's staring right at them while firing volleys, the trick won't be revealed if they split up even more.

To be honest I was deeply disappointed in this episode coz it's a bad sign they're showing. The fights I enjoyed the most in the manga was: Neji vs Kidoumaru, Shikamaru fights (yes I'm a Shikamaru fan ^.^), this one (thou it has one flaw), and a future fight I won't mention here. And the only fight I think was properly made so far is Shikamaru vs Temari of those mentioned. The fights are at a way higher level then before, or is at least supposed to be since we're fighting beyond average jounin. And if they can't make the fights better then what do Naruto have?

As a final note I will end this post with a necessary sentence: Please just die Sasuke...

At least the music was good.

^Its a little better...especially that Rock-ish kind of music during the Naruto/Deidara scene. Still not at the old OST quality yet...hopefully they will make up for that aspect at least.

The fight was ridiculously impossible! Hey, even though they were high rank Nins , they would still step on the needles! WTF.!

I thought the volley of needles was far too long. And they didn't even show Sakura handstanding upsidedown! I was kinda looking forward to that...

BTW, who laughed at the end where Naruto has Chiyo go to that dango shop. The part where Naruto mentions Itachi and Kisame making sure they visited that shop was hilarious! I never looked at it from that view, that dango shop must be really good!

I understand the producers want to milk the naruto cow to its fullest, but this is just ridiculous. They talked and talked about almost nothing for more than half the episode. Most of these things could have been cut out, and they also keep on doing needless flashabacks, even to the episode before that!

Come on, this is why the manga is far superior, it's straight to the point and it's not dragged out as much.

For a character that rambles on about not liking to wait, this episode was pathetic. the anime is not being true to the manga, but that's been known to happen...

I was completely turned off watching the ep. I mean normally it wouldn't be that bad, but we have to wait two weeks to get a ep where all they bascially do is talk.

What the heck happened to an ep every week? If thier gona release these every two weeks they can at least make them interesting...........probably even 40 mins

I've been turned off with Bleach however. WTF. They started good and just completely turned into more filler crap. The olny good thing about Naruto is that at least its not filler.

However the Bleach crap may be due to the manga. They've spent like 10 chapters now on one fight. I mean an ep can cover at least 2-4 chapters. If one fight last 10 chapters its probably olny going to be a 2-4 ep fight. They have to make the manga better so the anime can start doing the better stuff.

Back on Naruto though, i still like Naruto. But waiting two weeks for eps that aren't even interesting is aweful

I wouldn't be annoyed that the anime was this bad if it was never good. But Naruto, the anime series, was kickass awesome with eps packed with actions and energy and good music. I've watched the anime series about 4 times (Excluding those fillers) like 4 or 5 times now without getting bored. But Shippuden is so bad I can hardly bear going through single episodes.
