AVILLENOAH 09 posted an interesting link suggesting that itachi wants to unseal the king tengu(founder of uchiha)! to do so he needs three MS the article suggects that itachi has a MS user on his already thas why he wants sasuke to unlock his? now my question is who is the third MS user?
There is a thread going on arguin whether obito is tobi and my theory is if obito is tobi then he might have the sharigan and maybe the MS or could it be that he was counting on kakashi to unlock his? coz when he beat kakashi using the MS he didnt really need to! did he show it kakashi on purpose just like he did with sasuke. is he using both kakashi and sasuke to get to his true goal?

don't Itachi was referring to Kakashi as the other Sharigan user besides Sasuke and himself. It also probably more evident in Itachis reaction on Kakashi questioning him how bad has his eyesight gotten.
