    @adonai:
Now you found out that there is no paradox.
Couldn't you have done that prior to our little discussion

But it's good to have you on my side now *gg*

@Feanor, There's no paradox, you just have to assume some really strange things...

Which I find really hard to do...

It was ALL good... until Kisame oppened his big mouth.

But one thing we are not taking in consideration, is that Orochimaru has the tenacity of a roach!
the damn thing keep comming. So it's possible that Orochimaru left after several tries at the 10-13 years old Itachi.. then he gave up.

    So the scenario would be:

Itachi join Akatsuki at age of 10-11
Orochimaru tries to take over Itachi's body at age of 10-11 (his 3 years are up)
Fail!!!!! He needs a body.. get anything he can get, wait 3 more years.

Itachi knowing that Orochimaru was comming after his ass, Itachi needed a way to counter him now, or he would lose!

OMG WTF BBQ!! Tablet of power, massacre your clan and get uber godly powers!!
    13-14 years old : Itachi~ Done!

Orochimaru tries again against 13-14 years old with MS^.^ Owned HARD!
Orochimaru leave Akatsuki, because no way he would get Itachi anymore.

Placing Orochimaru and Itachi at 13-14 mark, instead of the 10-11.
And then with the Sasuke's Tsukiyomi Itachi's image seems more belivable.. althoug he is pretty grown up for a 13-14.

this time paradox has been around for quite some time actually...
its mentioned in ch 238 that oro left 7 years ago.thats 10 years ago after timeskip. kishi shouldn't have shown that flashback of oro's.

    ^ Very good point.

We'll just have to wait till Itachi's membership status is fully explained, I'm not contesting his abilities, being able to defeat Orochimaru doesn't make it any easier for a 10 year old to leave his village and get with his super special awesome club members for a team meeting, without detection.

@dollar, for one thing you were completely wrong about he time line for Sasuke's flashback, it occurred from around 10 years ago (because Itachi was around 10 or 11 at the start), and it ended around 7 years ago (or less, we know that Itachi was an Anbu captain, but we don't know how long he had that position before he left).

Saying something like the flashback was 7 years years ago is just BS, it spanned at least three years.
