Thread: Cursed seal of heaven (Ten no juin) - spoilers for recent arcs enclosed

Okay. I can't be the only one who's noticed this, but I haven't been able to find any previous posts regarding this.

It is said that Anko was the first survivor of this seal, as a guinea pig or whatever. This is the same seal that was placed on Sasuke. Easy enough to follow, right?

So what the HELL is up with Juugo?! He can't possibly be old enough to have provided Orochimaru with the resources and research necessary to test this theory out on Anko, unless he was a very small child at the time. Indeed, when seeing the flashback with Kimimaro, they looked to be fairly close in age which in real time would put Juugo at approximately 19-20 years of age. In the current arc, Anko is around 27, and unfortunately I don't know exactly how many years it has been since Orochimaru left Konoha...

He isn't a normal human, maybe the curse seal increases his lifespan and decreases the growth rate? We known it is something unique with his blood.

There is the possibility that the Cursed Seal used on Anko had nothing to do with Juugo, and that it was further developed after Orochimaru left Konoha. I don't think Juugo would have approached Orochimaru when he was still in Konoha, for one. Since Orochimaru did his experiments in secret. I don't think the nature of his experiments were revealed until he left / fled / was chased out of Konoha.

Hm... the answer is simple: Juugo is older than he looks. He's probably around Anko's age. It's not really al that surprising. I mean when he stepped out of his cell and stood side by side with the rest of Team Hebi (I'll be damned if I call them Team Snake) he actually looked like the oldest one there (aside from Karin but that's probably just her glasses making her look old :P). He was bigger than the rest of them and more manly. Besides, it's not all that uncommon for characters to not look their age. I mean hell, the Sound Four consisted of 14 year olds (except for Kimimaro who was 15!!!). And even now, Itachi doesn't look 20 to me. Age is just a number in the Naruto world. Don't stress over it too much......

The problem is that he went to one of Orochimaru's hideouts, which doesn't make much sense if Orochimaru wasn't there...which he wasn't until sometime after Kakshi gaiden (the 4th wasn't the hokage yet) and before Naruto's birth (the 4th died). Since the reason for him leaving was because he couldn't be hokage.

So this means that Juugo has at most been with Orochimaru for around 13 to 14 years. If you add on to that how old he has to be to decide to go to Orochimaru, that would put him in his mid twenties.

I don't know how old people think he looks, he doesn't look like he's in he's around 25 to me.

And I've always strongly supported the theory that the seal was something completely different before him.

Orichimaru had been doing his experiments and crap well before leaving the village. Who says he hasn't had his hideouts for longer?

Juugo could have been a child, around 4-5 when Oro found him. If you go with the 13-14 year theory, that'd put him at 19, tops. Not all that unbelievable. Since Anko was the first test, take off 14 years from her age, and you'd have 13. Sasuske received his seal around the same age.

So, terrible_t, you could very well be right.

I agree. It was choice to be locked up so he didn't have to kill people. I also agree that Orochimaru could have had hideouts even before he left the Leaf Village. I'm sure he had contacts outside of Leaf before then since I doubt he was able to establish an entire Village, with so many loyal members, in just the time since he left Konoha. He could have been pretty young when he decided to go to Orochimaru but 4 or 5 is pushing it a bit.

Assuming that Anko got the seal at age of 12.
27-12 = 15
If Juugo is 23-24. 24 - 15 = 9

Now, lets say he got there ONE year earlier. To give time for Orochimaru develop the seal.Juugo was 8 years old.. totally plausible, Haku left his house and had control over his thing about that age also.

We can't make any call on some fictional characters age, until some official word..
I'd say he is 23, you say 19. Some people bring up the possibility of his cursed seal increasing his lifespan.. I could say a mutant hamster bite his baby toe making him look younger.. only Kishimoto knows at this point
