I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I like both bleach and naruto's storyline a lot. Right now, I'm probably more interested in the bleach chapters coming out than Naruto to see all the Espada fights.
Naruto's genre has changed a lot from part 1. Its become much more serious and profound(maybe a bit of an overstatement for a manga), so I really don't see the 2 parts as comparable. Both are good in their own ways.
The power levels in Bleach are completely screwed up, but unlike some people, I'm fine with the lack of death. It's just not that kind of manga.
^Me too (about the death). About the power level thing, I thought StealDragon's comments in the Yoruichi thread made the power balance much more sensible.
this thread has turned into a bleach manga dicusion thread
It can be saved. >__>
I personally agree with dollar's assessment (somewhere in another thread in this section...might have been a spoiler or chapter thread), that Bleach has a limited life span, whereas OP and Naruto are capable of running for longer, due to the main character(s) having a goal above and beyond beating the current villain(s). The lack of death in Bleach doesn't bug me, either - no one dies in OP and no one whines about it.
I feel like a lot of what's happened in part two of Naruto has been setting the stage for bigger events. There's a lot more exposition now than I remember there being in part one. I agree with Urameshi-sama, it's not going downhill, just going in a slightly different direction. (Or well, the same direction, but with a different flavour.)
I dont know about you, but chp. 352 just made things more interesting now.
You're totally right. In the early volumes, each chapter was filled with text, text, and more text. Lots of material, and the story was moving fast. The art was more detailed, and there were just plain more panels. These days, hardly anything happens on a page and everything is dragging. There's also less and less use of screentone, I've noticed, so everything pretty much white and black to save time. Sure, Kishimoto used to complain that he couldn't make deadlines in the past, but jesus, he should put a little effort into the manga instead of just sitting back and letting his fans buy merchandise and milking his success for all it's worth.
I also don't appreciate the fact that Sasuke has pretty much hijacked the whole plot. They might as well name Part II "Sasuke" and write Naruto out of the series. I like Sasuke and all, but I know that plenty of people don't like him, and even I am getting tired of this. What happened to Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage?
I'd have to agree. I started out as an avid Naruto fan, but when the fillers hit, I went to the manga for redemption. Anyways, the series's plotline is, in my opinion, being dragged out far more than it is able to handle. Yeah, yeah, Sasuke needs to kill his brother and so, he assembles a crew of badasses and Naruto needs to retrieve his friend. This seems to be the main focus of Naruto, but I think that this storyline is, from the outset, too simple for a manga this long. All in all, it goes without saying that Naruto is probably, like many quality mangas, being used to milk out some cash money. After all, that's how the business works.
