My opinion? I feel Naruto is in a confused stage of transition. That alone would be enough to make it notably different.

Anyway, I'm sorry, wait, no I'm not, comma, I'm one of the few people that thinks Bleach has a decent story before the criticizing angle is applied.

EDIT: And just for comedy's sake. (Please, someone at least giggle quietly in your head over this one. At least I didn't write this myself.)

    I...like Bleach's story...am I nearly alone in this all of a sudden?

It's true, he has a talent for different perspectives. I do prefer the way he used to draw hair and eyes, though that's mostly just nitpicking.

As for the story? I think it has a lot of potential still. There's a lot of foreshadowing that Kishimoto hasn't done anything with yet. It's normal for any story to have its ups and downs.

Hard to tell until I reread it all again.

It's meant to be read as a whole, you can't judge it until a plot point has been resolved.

i agree with you adonai you can't judge where the manga(up or down) is going just by reading the first few chapters of a new ark and i'm personaly looking forward to a match between naruto and sasuke's teams

The manga is still very good.

And how much text is in a chapter doesn't really matter.
Naruto has a good story I think, but it's also a very visual manga.

And more text doesn't mean it's always better.

In deathnote for example it's true, because it's more about the text.

In Spriggan the lenght of the text tends to bother me. It's still a great manga, but sometimes it's a bit too much. To the point that I start skipping text when I read it again, since I already know what's happening.

And Ghost in the Shell which has very much text too, I just hate.
I think I wasted my money on this.

3 different views on lenghty text, you see.

Nah, for sometime i´ve been liking the latest Bleach chapters more than the Naruto ones, Naruto sometimes suffer from the art simplicity that the OP was refering to, not always though and storywise Naruto right now is more slow than Bleach whcih lately has been a cliffhanger fest.

mangga has is own value, going downhill or not it doesnt matter. the author is the one who will be feeling the pain or joy of the outcome of his work

    I still like bleach^^.
Back to naruto though, I think the plot is moving a little slowly but I'm sure it will speed up soon.
