one question comes into mind, if Naruto=AL how can two versions of the same person exist on the same plane? ( if there is indead alternate realities). and besides why would ALnaruto go back in time to help current naruto? ALnaruto's world would still more or less be the same from the day he left shouldnt it? only naruto's world would be affected

Same as with trunks, he didnt want people to suffer what he did. Its quite farfetched because time jumps in naruto DOH!? But its still quite possible just depends if kisshi wants to use the toriyama factor in his manga which would be quit dumb, because in DB we had interplanetary fights and stuff like that while here they dont even have phones.

but with that though they do have forbidden techniques, which would make this whole time-travel thing semi-plausible.

the whole 4th having invented or found one such technique could kinda make sense...the whole "yellow flash" technique could be a series of short time/dimensional jumps but due to the boundaries of his chakra or because he died before truly completing it, it was put away as forbidden due to its extreme difficulty...could even be on that scroll naruto learnt kagebunshin off

an alternate explanation could be what sasuke's planning on...in which case orochimaru may have been attempting such a technique to fix his "need for a new body" problem, when he met with his unfortunate fate. sasuke may have learned of this and be trying to tackle itachi in the past and save/restore his clan...

though yeh these are just random bogus theories im throwing out there

It would not be a first if he pulled this. Member that Neji fight with Naruto he copied the fight scene from cowboy? And how sasuke somehow knew chinese martial arts from Jackie Chan.

Narutoverse isn't all primitive. They do have walkie-talkies, TVs, VCRs, etc.

And I remember the Cowboy Bepop thing, but not the Jackie Chan thing...

knowing kishi,if travel was possible,he would link it to the mangekyou sharingan.(an ability which only the 'future' sasuke can use

I do belive that travels to future seems very pausible, but not the other way around.

I think "Back from the future" is a good movie, for time traveling.
there isn't alternate realities, just one, that if he alter something, when he go back to when he came from its altered...
Same way when he make out with his own mother, and start to disapear because his future dad, wouldn't. and he wasn't going to be born!

So if you kill yourself now, there isn't going to be a future self of you to save the past... but of course to counter that some writers came up with the multi-verse thing, others universes with you there, to come to the past or present of your universe to alter the future...

Heck, AL could be here because he collected 123 Kyubis and he need the last to be "the nine tails!"

I'd go with Naruto's Brother to be AL:
