A lot of people seemed to be making theories based on the assumption that Kabuto is/was loyal to Orochimaru.
So I just wanted to see how many people actually do think that and why.
My answer would be no, that should have been obvious the moment that he considered killing Sasuke, directly against Orochimaru's orders. That and the fact that Orochimaru himself mentioned that no one knows what's going on inside Kabuto's head.
i agree with u adonai. kabuto was just using oro for somethin, i just wonder what it was
The fact kabuto was playing Orochimaru i got when he tried to sell information to Sasori. (not for money, but for something)
So from there on, was what he was up to.. he is up to something.
Kabuto might wanted to kill sasuke mostly because he would spoil some plan he wanted, and probably did.
Check me off as one who believes Kabuto has an ulterior motive for being with Orochimaru...
Kabuto's contradictory actions are just too suspicious to say he's loyal to Orochimaru. We all know he has a really shady past and that we can't really tell his true personality- his early support for Naruto and his kind behavior during the Chuunin exams seems a little too genuine to be just an act. His serious consideration of Sasuke's death is quite telling too. At the same time, he did help Orochimaru out even when Kabuto had the potential to kill Orochimaru at his weakest moments (he could have planned something) and he saved Orochimaru from Tsunade when he didn't need to.
We still don't know the sequence of events that ties his vague transition from being adopted by a doctor at Konoha to becoming an agent of Sasori and later Orochimaru. There are too many vague relationships here to say that this is the end of Kabuto's story. We'll probably see more Kabuto through Akatsuki stuff.
^ He was Sasori's agent first, then "lent" to Orochimaru as a spy, and after Orochimaru deprogrammed him (from that sleeper cell jutsu Sasori also used on Yuna), he was sent to infiltrate Konoha, which was why he was there after that battle, and years later he was extracted back to Otogakure.
^But we don't know the backstory of what happened before Kabuto was adopted by the Konoha doctor or what happened since the adoption till he became Sasori's agent.
^ I just explained that, he was Sasori's agent from the start, that's how the timeline works.
His "adoption" was planned as part of his infiltration of Konoha.
i'm not sure... the thing about kabuto saving orochimaru from Tsunade...
I guess Kabuto isn't really on the 'bad guys' side.
He is the 8-tails biju send to watch over Naruto (by no other then 4th) and maintain the balances of the tailed beasts. (since the 8th is the one that can go head to head with the 9th)
But with akatsuki on the move, he had to infiltrate them somehow without raising suspicions. And as everyone has tabs on everyone else, he have to be considered a threat/evil/bad so saving Orochimaru helps on his goals. (Not saving Orochi would mean he was up to something, and people would start poking around, why did he die, blowing his cover)
Where this came from? WAG!!
Does this necessary makes sense? Nope, maybe not even plot wise. But I don't care! Would be cool if happened that way.
I like him, he's shady, aways there, but not on focus.
