well, the thing is, it might NOT. Kishi could've meant for it to be a new jutsu. i mean, for 3 years, i highly doubt that the only thing naruto did was training and training. i'm sure he learned some jutsu...

Yup, seeing what happened after all that, the power seems to fit alot better, as we don't see any new jutsu and he did had to develop a new jutsu for kazuku.

Kinda lame as naruto did nothing other then perfect what he should already know "basics of ninja"

Yeah, i think this was discussed in some other thread... =| (not sure where)
; someone mentioned that Kishimoto had 'completely forgotten' about some jutsu he was going to give Naruto.

This just invalidates the chance of Naruto learning something else from that training and essentially him not doing shit.

    Way to go.

I liked it, probably the best Shippudin episode thus far.

Well if naruto went all berzerk on Jiraya he had to be doing some high level training. He could of also been trained to his advantages...being his drive and unmatched stamina (even without the 9tails chakra his own chakra pool is crazy).

It was way disappointing when Naruto came back with only a little more height, tad more strategy, odama rasengan, and nothing else to show for his 3 years of training. The whole kyuubi control is way overrated and I think its sad that Jiraiya had to teach him everything he should have learned at the academy.

He's probably one of the few ninja his age who didn't know elemental jutsu unitl Kakashi taught him (speaking of which, Kakashi was a terrible team leader for team 7 as he only trained Sasuke past the basic chakra control training they all had in the mist village).

There's a simple answer for that.

Naruto is the main character. He never had that many jutsu. You can't have him be gone for three years and somehow he knows several new jutsu.
You just can't do that with his character.
We always saw his training to gain new jutsu to follow his journey.
Going against that after the timegap wouldn't be good.
Well, maybe Kishi could've given him one new jutsu, but not more than that.

And for the elemental thing. He also had to learn that after he came back. That way, while it is being explained to him, it is explained to us also.
It's the best way to do it, instead of letting him learn about it without us seeing it.

It's sad, because the timegap made it seem that Jiraiya didn't teach Naruto anything and that Naruto hadn't really improved in those years, but that's how it had to go down (basically).

Meh, I figure Jiraiya was busy writing his book and making sure Akatsuki weren't kidnapping Naruto until he was ready to not be foolishly be kidnapped by Akatsuki and you know...run away or some shit.
