Thread: WHAT is the akatsuki's purpose?

sorry can someone please tell me? i'm guessing they are after naruto because their former leader was the fourth hokage and they merely want to tap the kyuubi's power to commune with their leader, but i'm not sure

But anyways (I'm assuming that you read the manga and somehow missed this or didn't understand it), the AL stated that their goal is to obtain all nine biju and the to gain the trust of villages and countries without a hidden village by charging lower rates and taking the worst jobs after establishing their own group of shinobi (presumably a hidden village). They will then use their control over the biju (presumably with the statue), to have the biju cause some property damage, they will then "defeat" the biju and eventually everyone will trust them and they'll "control the world"...

Sort of like health insurance salesmen that threaten to break your knees if you don't buy, or flood insurance salesmen that create their own floods.

Yeah, I'm hoping that he was justing lying to Hidan too...

personaly i always thaught that there whole purpoes was retarded.....but i pray that he was lying to hidan as much as i pray that the AL isnt the 4th.

well probably near tops i guess, we dont know how strong that grass dude is, nor do we know how strong the blue hair is and niether do we know how strong AL is.

Dont think 4th=AL. like if he someone would of found out obviously and he owuld alter Konoha to it. hes treated like a hero who died protecting his country. he was said to be the greatest shinobi Konoha has ever produced.

Akatuski purpose take over the world or monopalise it

i hope another new enemy comes after the Akatsuki.....their goals are not as high as orochimaru's

Akatsuki's goal is a so called felix culpa. I support them to the fullest.

I find it funny how people complain about overly complicated, vaguely explained, and/or unrealistic goals for the "bad guys," but when someone like Akatsuki comes around and has a rather believable, real world idea, people come from miles around to complain about it.

Akatsuki's plot is summed up this simply:
1) Raise a mercenary army.
2) Offer cheap assistance to warring nations. (Thus reducing the need for their own forces.)
3) Cause upheaval in the background, while combating it in the foreground. (Be idolized as a "heroic force.")
4) Become the major center of power around.
5) Claim sovereignty.

I'd be willing to be that's been done half a dozen times on the military scale throughout history.
