i think its cause oro's agenda is different from itachi. oro wants to destroy konoha but itachi just wants the jinchuurikis...
You know what? I heard that if two people go to toudai together... Then they can...

yeah, itachi doesn't seem to have an aim of his own.
oro on the other hand has too many.
they are both equally cruel, but since oro is more "involved" in things,he gets to look crueller.
at one point of time i did think that in the end, sasuke would become just like itachi, and kill all the people who came to save him(the closest thing to his family-the konoha teams) and leave one survivor(naruto).
    end less revenge cycle.

But I don't know if Orochimaru would've acted the same way. On the other hand Orochimaru didn't kill Anko.
Both are bad guys but I prefer Itachi. Orochimaru is just too disturbing.
Anko was the examiner, Orochimaru wanted the exams to continue. He warned her that if she stopped the exams, he would do something horrible (I don't recall exactly what it was). The question would be why didn't he kill Naruto (actually no, only teams could advance in the forest). The reason in the anime is that he left Naruto alive because Akatsuki wanted Naruto alive. He had already defected from Akatsuki during the exams, but he was still doing as AL wanted (in a sense). It's too cumbersome to find the chapter when he speaks about it, so if anyone knows, tell.

Itachi's objectives are unknown at the moment. But his grudge is against whatever he learned about his family.

^No, I was talking about why he left Naruto alive in the Forest of Death. He only put a five-elemental seal on Naruto instead of killing him. Orochimaru could easily have killed Naruto at that time. Later, when they are fighting Tsunade, thats when Orochimaru says that he left Naruto alive because Akatsuki wanted Naruto alive. He had just performed a Kuchiyosi for Manda, and Naruto was attempting to summon Gamabunta. So yes, AL wants Naruto alive, and Orochimaru didn't kill Naruto because of this (in the Forest). During the Sannin fight, he says that keeping Naruto alive would be detrimental to his plans, which is when he tried to use the Kusanagi on Naruto.

I think Orochimaru only decided this after Naruto hit Kabuto with the Rasengan. Orochimaru knows that only 4 people can do it, and realized that someone who could do it was probably dangerous. And, for some reason, I think he thought it would be better if Akatsuki didn't get Naruto alive and take over the world.

I think Lingo's point was more like, Itachi doesn't really fit the role of your regular evil badass. Oro does.
Yeah, Orochimaru IS disturbing, but a mass murderer with no apparent reason except for the unexplained 'truth behind his clan' is quite the timebomb ^_^

orochimaru is an evil researcher. that's why i like his presentation. i just don't 'like' bad guys.

itachi, on the other hand is ....... i don't know. in a way mindless. he is. he has no plans so to speak. he massacres people on a whim. oro is none of that. yes, some have said otherwise, but that's not so.

Oro is calculaltive. manipulative. intelligent. he seeks betterment. but the expense at which he attempts all of this is what makes him 'bad'.

itachi is another serial killer of the underworld. people like him just make me think 'these guys ought to be dead'. all the akatsuki for that matter. a bunch of fanatics.

oro too. the dead thing. just like a lab rat rather than anything else. do to you what you did to others.

they're both bad. but itachi is braindead.
