You can't use Narutos emotions against him.
That's what makes him and almost every other konoha shinobi win their fights (and it makes them special).
And most bad guys get beaten because they are ninja in a traditional sense that lack emotions and dreams/goals and a just tools.
You should at least have learned that by reading Naruto by now.
The thing is it can't work any time.
And Kimi was not made out to be Narutos opponent to begin with.
What should've happened? Naruto beats the shit out of the former leader of the sound five in a few minutes and follows Sasuke almost unharmed?
Kimmimaro was made out to fight Lee, so Naruto couldn't beat him.
But it's true he lacks constancy with his smarts.
Espacially after seeing the Zabuza fight.
Makin a large amount of clones and attack Zabuza to blind him, transform into a shurikan, take into account he'd dodge etc.
That's thinking several steps ahead of the action like almost only Shika could do it.
I could be very well wrong since a bit time has passed that I read the whole manga in detail, but I can't think of a character besides Shika that has done such a thing.
Not even the all praised Sasuke.
Naruto is just the way he is. Reckless and naive (just like goku and Ruffy).
And I think he'll keep some of that attitude through the entire manga.
I for one couldn't imagine a Naruto that is all shika like.
And I certainly wouldn't want to read about him.
