I thought Kishimoto wanted to keep Kakashi's design simple. Kakashi becomes easier to draw if half of his face is covered, right? ~_^
Another thought just occured to me. Remember how Kakashi uses his forehead protector to cover his left eye? It was later revealed that he was hiding the Sharingan. Who's to say he's not doing the same thing with his mask? >_>
The reason Kakashi wears a mask is because he was one of the first characters Kishimoto designed, and he originally intended to go with the whole "ninjas wear masks" tradition. He decided to scrap that idea, but since he designed Kakashi already he just left him that way. There is no link or anything that I can give you as solid proof, but a few years ago a friend told me this from something she read in a Kishimoto interview or something.
But we can still imagine and speculate right? lol ^.^
SHINSENGUMI DA!!!! >O
nah, there's nothing wrong w/ his face. he's really hot. look at the ramen shop ppl's reactions in ep. 101 ^_^
anyway, i like him w/ his face half covered. very mysterious haha. adds to his good looking-ness
Today, I got lost on the road of life.
He is like Gene Simmons. He has a freaky long tounge that, the ladies love.
nahh . i think he's just one sexy dude behind that mask .
and only wears the mask because his dad did , a family tradion yeah . [:
Maybe he has a tatoo or something, but it wouldnt really make sense to have a tatoo if youre just going to concele it with a mask :P
Or perhaps he has a cursed seal Oro gave around his mouth.
