Thread: Can Kakashi open the gates

From his reaction i think he knew how before..maybe not to the extent Lee and Gai can but he has the ability. I thought that the reason he uncovered his eye was to keep track of lees incredable speed.

You cant copy a jutsu which doesnt have handseals with sharingan.
He just used it to stay with lee's speed thats all.
And he did open the first gate before sasuke training while he was climbing only with 1 hand.

It was in one of 20-40 ep or something when kakashi opened the first gate at the mountain.

what about the rasengan? he copied it up to the point where he couldn't help naruto with the chakra nature infusion and about the opening gates he probably did open the gates but the first gate isn't in the brain maybe it's like gai (in the gai vs. kisame fight) and he can open higher gates without opening the lower ones

^ It could be very well possible (and probable) that Kakashi learned rasengan from the 4th (before he got the sharingan), he did say that the reason he developed raikiri was because neither he nor the 4th could fuse their chakra to the rasengan.

The first gate is in the brain, and what Guy did wasn't really clear, it could have been only the 6th or it could have been 1 to 6, we can't really tell until there's another situation where it's explained.

perhaps he put his headband back to minutely see the chakra. ALso, Lee was at gate 5. And yes i think he can open gates, just not all 8 like Gai

from his reply to Gai when rock lee was fighting its implied that he can open one or two.

Gai can only open to 6, not 8 like you "Arkbound" said.

Where did it say that Gai can only open to 6?

no one has said that he can or cannot open to gate 8, but we have only seen that he has opened to gate 6 so far. when he fought that shark guy.
