In the case of Natural Selection, if mututations pop up that enhance the chance of survival, the mutations will spread throughout the 'population' because of the enhanced survival of those with the mutation.

If you check out Mendelian inheritance&Punnent squareyou'll find that there is a good chance that MOST of the clan will inherit it, especially when you factor in Natural Selection and just how advantegous these traits are, esecially during wars.

Of course, they're all natural geniuses (combat-wise) to start off with (except for Hidan who seems to be a complete and total dumbass - especially next to Kakuzu) so it wouldnt take much to develop jutsus that could rival any bloodline...
