    Default Just curious...

Was the writer drunk when he said Chidori can cut through lightning? That doesn't even make sense, who the hell cuts through lightning and why?? Its like saying, My super strong attack is so powerful it can melt fire or my ultra strong ice blast can freeze frozen water into really really cold ice....

Chidori doesn't do that raikiri does.

And from 334 I'm assuming that Kakashi just replicated what he did before.

Besides your analogy isn't really perfect, air can be heated even further to become plasma, and at a cold enough temperature certain materials become supersolids or superfluids.

seeing from the last chapter im kinda thinking that Chidori is a lighting jutsu that can cancel out or stop other lightning jutsu... just a thought tho. remember the whole lightning cutting was just a rumor about the name.

Kakashi did stop a high level lightning jutsu with his raikiri. Maybe it lived up to the name?

I thought that kakashi cuted a lightning with his chidori and then chidori got the nickname of raikiri I recall Gai explained that in the manga

Are you trying to get technical? My point was its rather silly to talk about cutting lightning. Supersolids have absolutely nothing to do with what I was saying so im assuming u have no idea what your talking about.

Well you have to remember: The funny little super canon, yet annoying flawed, guidebooks state they are two different things for semi-unexplained reasons.

Your analogy was about redundancy (heating fire and freezing ice), which cannot be applied to the case with raikiri cutting lightening (one process is not reinforcing the other). My point was that there is a further result to the actions that you stated in your analogy so it wouldn't serve as a very good comparison to something that you're trying to describe as impossible.

As for me not knowing what I'm talking about, why don't you explain it for me?
(I'm not trying to start an argument, really, explain it to me.)

To conclude, if you had read 334, as StealDragon and Wompa1 apparently had, then you might have reached the conclusion that "cutting lightening" was a metaphor for nullifying another lightening based attack.

In a world where someone can throw lightning bolts out of their eyes and
fireballs out of their arse it might be quite important to be able to protect
    yourself from those attacks.

And as a sidenote: This is already your second thread of whining and bitching
about Naruto. If you don't like the series,it's your freedom to stop reading.

    welcome to the forums.

frm wut i understand, adonai's little story about nullfying is in the right track,
i doubt kakashi really cut lighting in half in his old days, but rather canceled it out. IMO raikiri sounds better.
