I might be wrong, but I think they both ripped off a scene from a bruce lee movie(not sure which one though). Which isn't to suprising since Spike uses jeet kune do, and I believe that style had some part in the naruto world taijutsu. Everyone in leaf village seem to use similar forms with the forms used by Neiji and Rock Lee being the most prevelant examples, except for Naruto's whose taijutsu would be more akin to street brawling than any actual martial arts form).

It's not like as if Cowboy Bebop invented the fighting scene anyway. For all we know Both CB and Naruto are both paying homage to some martial arts movie. And stop bitching about it, if it weren't for the fight scene and probably several others, the anime probably would've lasted to 120 instead of the 135. So in a way, they prolonged the inevitable.

I remember this being brought up before in another thread. It might no longer exist, but it goes back to the ridiculous accusation that Kishimoto steals moves from other medias. Clearly, this is the animators' doing, not his.
