...eh. Who cares if he don't know what he's into? Sure, his characters aren't all stereotypes-- but is that really a BAD thing? Naruto's been set up in a unique way. THAT, at least, I object to y'complaining about.

being unique can only go so far, to me, If you can do an AWESOME story with the usual characterization, I'd rather read that than have "Unique" characters and a story that is just dawdling along. Theres a reason why many authors use "The formula" That shit WORKS! If an author cant even make a decent & exciting story using the methods that are readily availiable, Why would I want to see him cary on a story in Uncharted "Unique" territory? and BTW, Being the underdog in a story is NOT unique. . .that shit is as old (actually older) than/as the shounen formula. . I.E ROCKY. . . . ALL these characters are nothign new in the realm of story telling. You cant just look at one medium for a source of good story telling, the medium (i.e Shounen Manga) is a VEHICLE used to TELL A STORY. At this point, Kishimoto is failing us, big time. . .in the realm of story telling, which is the main point of manga/anime, it is what keeps the medium alive.

P.S OMG and DONT let me even get STARTED on lost. . .I'll be here ranting on how much it sucks for WEEKS, hell I'd hit every point MULTIPLE TIMES.

Actually its kinda like a mafia thing. . .which is interesting, but I mean it takes away form the whole "Mystical" feel of Naruto. . .oh yeah lets form a mafia in a land of mythical beasts etc. . ., hell, I at LEAST figured, kishi was going to have them do something related to other lands across the seas. . . .

I mean damn Kishi has SO many places to take this series, and he chooses to focus on the deaths of fucking minor characters that no one cared about. . .and 3-4 chapters of buildup-focusing on a character isnt goign to force the reader to "Connect" with the character anymore. . .I mean when the third died yeah that was a useful death, I eman he was the fucking village leader/king/strongest shinobi alive, and he died in a GOODASS OWNAGE FIGHT, filled with great planning etc. . .here asuma just go tunlucky and got owned by someone stronger than him. . that shit took like two chapters. . .Imean really he died in a fuckign cheap way, nto a blaze of glory and high skilled battles that jounins are suppsoed to be capable of. . .I mean fuck, If Naruto+sakura+old+hag+Kakashi can own deidara+puppet akasuki man, I'm sure a team of Shikamaru who's suppsoed to be a super Genius, Asuma who's a high lvl jounin, and has a HUGE bounty on his head, +the other two jounins on his team would at least have a HELL of a more better fight than that, and not a lameass death for one of the TOP fighters. . .

I said the same thing when Asuma died, If you are going to kill somebody, kill somebody important. He failed to kill Sakura when he had the chance to, I mean do you imagine to impact it would have had on the story Had Sasuke Killed Sakura that time at Oro's base???
But no he opted out for Asuma whom we all never cared about and knew that he was an average ninja at least not better than kakashi nor on his level.
This is what i hate about Shounen mangakas, they are afraid to take chances!!!

Well yes and no. . .I'd rather they know what the heck they are doing so that they wouldn thave to "Make chances" and fuck up their work lol. I mean look at 666Satan, and One Piece, you can TELL that both mangakas have planned out EXACTLY where they are going in the story, look at Eternal Sabbath, In stories like these you can tell the author knows what he's doing because there is nothing that is there for no reason, everythign is there for a reason. . .that's why we analyze so many good works of literature in school, and spend hours dissecting all the elements of the stories. I mean sure, ES wasnt a shounen manga but one piece and 666satan are and they are a JOY to read, not a CHORE and then there's the fillers of the anime, which I stopped watchin a year ago.

I was afraid for a moment that the shonen genre would fall apart, after all we;ve got naruto and bleach which have just fallen apart. . .I mean ok you got aizen whos the badass, but the author has another "Rescue the damsel in distress arc" which wreaks of the same "I Don't know where I'm going (or how to be creative and excite the readers+make lots of money) with this story so I'm just going to reuse a plot device I used already in the first arc. . the readers wont notice" crap that masashi is doing. I mean theres a lot of things to be done in bleace as well, like ichigo's lineage, the whole king's court t hing, that's liek another layer of the bleach world already, i mean that's interesting, but we have to have inoue used as a plot device when she really wasnt very important as well, hell tite could have just phased her out like he did with her tomboyish freind who IMO would be a lot better sharing the spotlight with Ichigo anyway (whiney clutzy duds for female characters are annoying as hell anyway) it would have kept the story exciting, like a revy /rock relationship. . only rock would be badass (wow I'm all oer the place with anime/manga references. . . .) anyway off this tangent and back to the point

I'm glad there are still good mangas/anime out there like op and 6s (in the shounen catagory) I swear Masashi, and Tite-san should take lessons form Oda-sensei LOL.

Yeah Oda could definitely school kishimoto and kubo. I mean tell 1 time that a secret was reavealed in Naruto where you were like Ohhh shht... THings that get revealed in Naruto are things that you already know or pretty much had guessed from the begining like:
1.Asuma being the son of the third
what else is there? nothing. Plus it's kinda says everything when the biggest secret you have is the AL's identity and the second biggest is Naruto's origins. I say if you don't have enough secrets at least take risks.
As for Bleach, ther has been plenty:
1.Isshin being a shinigami, that caught you off guard
2.Isshin and Ryuuken knew each other.
3.Aizen being the mastermind, you thought he was a goody capt.
    4.Yoruichi being a female shinigami.
Kubo however messed up, he tried to focus on Inoue so he could make a filler arc(that's what i call it).

And yes the shounen genre is dead but after all it was made for kids. The Manwahs however seems to do a better job with it then the Jap. manga. The only Shounen worth reading is OP, i mean who would of thought that Garp was luffy's gp and Dragon is father??

All in all i hate the shounen genre, it's too restricted due to a simple formula.

Manwahs? What's that?? A new kind of Sandwich?

Ahh and I forgot about the ss arc and the crazy plot Twists when we were all like "DAMN THEY GOT SERVED BY AIZEN!" Thsoe were the good 'ol days, kinda like the momentThat Naruto went all Kyubi on Haku in the anime and you were like "OH SHIT!" Or even when Naruto Fought Sasuke for that last time and they got all the top notch animators to do those scenes,. . .Like the multiple homiming missile Naruto clones lol, and the Naruto clone Cyclone of death. . .Then him going all Kyubi and shit, the moments with the sannin, being they were legendary it was like whoa, coool, Itachi coming back to konoha, The third and Orochimaru Fighting oh man. . ahh. . .Those were the days.

Oh and I figured Oda was going to do something With Dragon, It's about damn time, I mean he's already set the stage for the revelutionaries vs wg, sicne he explained about the lost history was just a cover up of the wg when they exterminated the raftel civilazation-not exact words but thats implied, and its been im plied what "One piece" is as well I mean damn, THAT's planningAND the story is FUNNY AND serioues AND adrenaline pumping, surpriseing etc. . . which is just Rare to find. . .One piece Is really a fun ride.

Manhwas are Korean mangas(King of hell, Threads of time, Ares, Unbalancex2, Chunchuu, Sword of the Dark ones, Ragnarok, Blade of Heaven, Rebirth, Priest, Shin angyo oushi....).
The Naruto surprises you mentionnned weren't really surprises because that are things we knew already. But isn' t Kishimoto supposed to distance manga from the anime??? why is he taking a break if it ain't a holiday??
