yup....of course......sarutobi says the whole village is one big testosteroned family.......and itachi is technically one of the family who has his own family.....

so konoha and akatsuki are cousins............

for all we know AL might just be some random ninja that's never been mentioned...
all we know is: it's not yondaime since kishi showed half of his face. he could be almost everyone's relative and find some reasoning for it; i'm personally convinced that he's the 4th's brother/son(then he'd have at most itachi's age, wich is unlikely) and of course somehow related to naruto as well

I posted this elsewhere but I might as well post it here.
The Akatsuki leader is Naruto who was driven mad when he didn't become Hokage and used forbidden time travelling Jutsu AND NOW CANNOT DIE OR BE HARMED IN ANY WAY! HE ALSO LIKES NAIL POLISH HAVING COME TO TERMS WITH HIS SEXUALITY! The only way to defeat him is to kill Naruto and create a paradox that will result in everything being neatly tied up and leave Hinata for me. This will be proven once the leader sacrifices Itachi to Sasuke while he kills Orochimaru so they can finally consumate their love for each other with noone in the way.
