this is a picture of one of the new gym leaders from pokemon diamond and pearl dunno if its just me but i kinda see a resemblence, and to make things more interesting hes a electric type user

What nature type user was Yondaime?

I'm thinking it was wind. Kakashi did say he wanted to put some chakra into it, and the only thing that would make sense is to put wind in a swirling ball.

Actually it doesn't really matter what you put into it since yondaime was just trying to achieve a mix between form manipulation [Rasengan] and nature manipulation [whatever nature type he was].

Well, if you're trying to put a chakra nature into a ball that is called "swirling ball," What Chakra would you put it with? Wind, that's the most obvious.

since this is a shounen manga which closely follow the shounen rule, I'd say YOndaime's nature(type) is/was the same as Naruto. it's 99.99% positive.

Well..actually it's spiralling sphere but who cares?....

Well not really. You could put any other type [maybe not earth] and it would still work well.

As for his nature type...you can't say he's wind just because it makes the most sense with Rasengan. [I disagree, they're all, except for earth, equally good choices]
