I'd be funny if the just switched who recieves the pain and all the Konoha Shinobi there would start pounding on Asuma to hurt Hidan.
While Asuma is crying and thanking them.

i haven't been reading much but i have a feeling his power is kinda like saisei from SDK, so if asuma hurts himself hidan would get hurt, asuma wouldn't and vice versa

NO!! Hidan gets hurt when he stabs himself as well as Asuma. The difference between the two is Hidan can't die. If it is a two way direction of pain it wouldn't matter because the only reason Hidan is able to use this jutsu is because he is immortal.

Nah noone ever has been immortal hes probably some kind of freak like kabuto hes getting dmg but at the same time hes healing himself while using chakra or something like that. But its just dumb to make and immortal character because how would you kill him ... Whit 1000 years of pain jutsu or what ... immortal=immortal if someone is mortal then hes mortal its like vampires they arent immortal but immune to ligh/heavy dmg while they die when someone chope their head or pierce trough their heart.

why not just wipe off the circle - probably negates the jutsu.

hmmm, i agree with you

but in addition, the title "Immortal" is just a psychology trick to makes other think that Hidan is really immortal

if he really immortal, why he dont become Akatsuki Leader, also Imortality is very imba jutsu( if it is considered as a jutsu)

even Orochimaru with his "immortality" is not real immortal, he keep changing bodies, so he can say he is "immortal"

in Hidan case, maybe the matrix is a requirement to obtain "immortality", if he out of the matrix or the matrix has been erased, the Damage Transfer no Jutsu (i know this is a silly name) won't work

but that skin changing colour is so cool, by the way... kinda like that guitarist from limp bizkit?

I believe his soul is stored in an object (most likely his necklace). In comics and films, they wouldn't show something utterly useless especially on characters. However, I don't think he will die if you destroy his necklace. He will just become vulnerable. He would cry like an Obito if it's the case. But then, it would too much like a body-puppeteering; even though it's his own. Which is lame and uncreative. It's too similar to Sansori's body cut-out jutsu.

And, Hidan is invincible. It doesn't mean he's immortal. Damage won't kill him. The opposite goes for Orochimaru. Oro is immortal in the sense that he will live on forever. Time won't kill him. Plus, Oro is one tough bugger to kill.

Maybe he's a puppet controlled by Sasori!
