How much did Kishimoto think out in advance?

How much of the story do you think Kishimoto had thought out in advance when he started drawing on this manga, and how much of the story has been made up as it goes?

Do you think that Kishimoto had made up in advance that there would be 9 jinchuurikis?
Do you think that Kishimoto made up in advance that Gaara was the one-tail?
Do you think that Kishimoto made up in advance that 3rd hokage was of the Sarutobi clan even though he seems to have given him Sarutobi as first name instead of last name?
Do you think that Kishimoto made up in advance that Naruto was a wind type from when he gave him the jutsu rasengan (the wind spiral)?
Do you think that Kishimoto made up in advance the theory of different elements and nature manipulation?

Do you think that Kishimoto screw up in the theory of how kyuubi was sealed?
Do you think that Kishimoto screw up in the rules of the chuunin exam?
Do you think that Kishimoto screw up anything else?
Do you think Kishimoto likes bananas?

Kishimoto prolly didn't think of all this from the very BEGINNING, no...

And btw, family names come first in Japanese. So 'Sarutobi' IS his family name.

It doesn't really matter, just as long as it doesn't start sucking.

Of course he didn't think up all that from the beginning, but this thread is for discussing what he might have thought up from the beginning... or the earlier days.

About Sarutobi, with first name I meant it as the name people use to call him out. As Naruto instead of Uzumaki etc. We only know him as Sarutobi-sensei.

About the elements dunno but as i remember in the first naruto movie or 2 (the naruto and snow princess (or smth like that). At the end naruto used rasengan and there was those crystals which were representing chakra and there were 5 colors and naruto had 5 colored rasengan. Or something like that. So it seems that he had the idea about 5 elements long ago. About the other facts he had some other he made up in progress.
I think he like ramen and his dog called naruto eats bannanas.

I think he planned the plot for at least a year or maybe 2 years of publication maybe... but when he realized Naruto was a being a hit manga he begin doing more plot lines and stuff (Like Nobuhiro Watsuki did with Kenshin)
At least he planned to show Itachi and maybe Obito (Since Sasuke refered Itachi since the first chapters, and Kakashi refered to his friends, not to Obito but to all his friends)

The nine jinchuuriki thing... there are 9 bijuu, and, if you haven't read the newer chapters with Tobi the Akatsuki operative, then you should see that the sanbi bijuu doesn't have a host body or whatever.

About the Swirl that's on Naruto's clothes and all the coincidences where naruto means whirlpool, uzumaki means maelstrom, Rasengan means spiralling sphere, the seal is in a spiral form....

Kishimoto said that he didn't think anything of them he just put the swirl on naruto's clothes but he is working of way to integrate them in the storyline.

Jounins also have swirlds on their vests chunins probably to. So its more like a symbol of leaf or so.
