Thread: Naruto Age Question

The Naruto age question is so easy.

Of course he is as old as the other kids in his class.
And he didn't have to take 3 extra years in school because he failed 3 times.

You think the Shinobi school works just like a normal school, but it doesn't.
It actually works like a drivers license (the finals at least).

You fail the final exam, so you study a bit more and take it again after a few weeks.
It would be stupid to let him retake a whole years just because he failed the Bunshin exam.

They also wouldn't let Naruto take the test earlier. You saw how bad a student he was.

My reason for this theory.

Lee, Neji and Tenten are, as we know one year older than Naruto is.
If he failed and had to retake a years he would've been in their class for a whole years.
And so, at the chuunin exam, he had known who they are (and they who he is).
But they didn't know each other.

So he was never in class with them.

It's pretty obvious.

There is 3 floors on the academy atleast. (its just to support my theory of multiple years)
Where I studied, we had something like.. 2nd year A, 2nd Year B, 2nd Year C(sometimes D)

So its very plausible to be in the same schollar year, and not know each other.
And if I remember correctly on my 8th grade we had different lunch times of the A and D class, so we didn't see the whole day anyone from class B or C.(unless you really wanted to, so you could go on the 5min breaks between each class)

But I still think you are wrong.

Because it would make Naruto 3 years older.
So at this point of the manga where he is 14,5 years old the others would only be 11,5. And that just can't be.

It would only work if he started school earlier.

But than again. Only the third thought high of him. Nobody else did.
I doubt the third decides at what age a kid starts school.
Letting them all start at a certain age is much more easy.

And watching Naruto for a day everybody would see that he's not a genius and tell him to start school like every other child *gg*


But we'll never know. Maybe we should agree on the plothole theory just to end this *lol*

The whole naruto failing 3 times thing can be answered pretty easyly, he entered 3 years before the others, as far as we know there is no age limit on entering the accademy, if i remember right (probobly dont =P) sasuke and itachi entered when they were 7. We also dont know how many years it takes to graduate from the accademy, all we know is you have to be able to perform very basic jutsu before you can become a genin, so everyones amount of time from start to finish is more then likely diffrent.

hey don't blame me, man, after all this thread isn't necessary, everyone knows naruto is around 15. and xaturas, do you play gothic?

Also got to consider that Naruto, had a special relation with both the professor and THE Hokage, he wasn't like a nobody that failed..

So some strings could have been pulled to make him try the tests more times.

I only assume, that since he had no mother or father, he entered the school first then anyone, and managed to try more times then the other.

Naruto is in the Konoha record books for 2nd most academy failures
