One the topic of Rock Lee

Pardon me sirs, I was pondering a rather mundane and unoriginal question that really has no answer. Are we able to ascertain the reason(s) why the "ninja" in the "Anime" series known as "Naruto" known as "Rock Lee" is unable to use such techniques as "Ninjutsu" or "Genjutsu"? Was this simply a plot device by Kishimoto-sensei, or is there a more, palpable, reason for it? Moreover, do we know if this Lee chap has living parents, and if they are somehow related to his, shall we say, handicap?

Because he sucks. He has a disease called, Hardworkitus, and it's so severe that he will never become a great Ninja.

i disagree lee is awesome he kicks ass and he is funny so he makes for a great charcter

it must be genetics or something but they said it was very rare to find a shinobi that can not use ninjustu or genjustu..... and about his parents ... i think they will tell use sooner or later as the story progresses.
Like how they told us who the 3rd's son was....

There's no way Lee's parents will ever be revealed because there is no need to, just like there is no reason to show Sakura's parents. Besides, I just assumed he was an orphan.
Gai sensei is enough of a father figure to him anyways.

Right i mean im pretty sure my parents wont let me be soo close to some old dude with no girlfriend a weird haircut and talks about love and youth all the time
but both lee and gai are great

i agree and i add that we will never know exactly why he cant because that also does not matter, he kicks enough ass

as they've said there's no need to reveal each and everyone of their parents. (unless u want more fillers)

btw it is said that lee had no talent to learn ninjutsu, genjutsu etc.

Gai and Lee may live together. It's actually possible. You see, during the part of the series where Lee was injured, there was a flashback. It showed both Gai and Lee in casual dress, at a table, in a kitchen. And Gai had made some sort of Herbal Dumplings of Youth or whatever for Lee, saying they would help his injuries. I realize one or the other could have just been at another's house, but still, that was the only time I remeber seeing Gai without his scroll-vest.
I'm sure this will invite some odd suggestions.
But whatever.
