well i agree with the argument in general that most basic moves arnt used in naruto , which should be ! i guess its probably because recent fights arnt against people who will go down with punches and kicks and a kunai here and there thrown from the shadows.
plus genjutsu was also used in the beginning during the chunin exam by those ninjas that attacked team 7 + kabuto near the tower ! that was bloody efficient tooplus if u look at it there havent been enough fights in the manga to say they spam the same technique ! and anime really doesnt count ! (the fillerS)
plus we see that hidan and kukazu are owning bijjus , maybe they use more strategy and basixc moves , and we will get to see that stuff again !
and who says bleach is bad !? bleach is cool ! even the anime is getting cool ! (even tho the next ep might show ichigo using bankai and ishida getting his powers back ) then again we all knew that the bounto were too damn strong from the start and to defeat them would require ichigo and co be stronger.
anyway since this is not a bleach thread ! ya i agree that basics are almost forgotten in naruto, and would be fun to see but sparsly and like someone said kishi has just set the bar too high to go back to basics !
and also if kyubbi has been spammed a lot till now its because well thats the main story ; a boy with kyubbi sealed within! and that has been amende already cause apprently now he is developing his own strength !
UNDER CONSTRUCTION !

Like in the battle of Naruto vs Sasuke when they use Rasengan and Chidori respectively, and they were about to attack each other. Naruto could have just pulled a clone and then attacked Sasuke as he landed...even if Sasuke had seen through the clone, the momentum of the attack would make him collide with the clone anyways and then Chidori would have been wasted.
Just an example of when something simple could have changed the whole story.
^^ love bleach.

But, i dnt mind seein other chracters use taju-kagebunshin in there fights. er my bad i think naruto is the only one could do tht cuz of his masssive amount of chakra? i guess in wutever new jutsu he's learnin just dnt over do it, meanin not jump into dbz mode on me, its gettin there :P
chidori wouldnt have been wasted, itcan cut through the clone and still

If Sasuke was sure that that clone was the real Naruto he would have ended Chidori right there. If you look at all of the examples Chidori always ends after it strikes the target because the power is released into the opponent. And it takes a huge amount of chakra to keep going. An example of the force is when Sasuke hit the water tank, the force is stopped completely.
remember kakashi gaiden? the part where kakashi got 17 clones with the same chidori?sasuke's sharingan is better than kakashi's.but kashi didnt have sharingan at that time
Do you remember the early fight Zabuza against Naruto/Sasuke/Kakashi?
Naruto seemed to be very clever... with the plan he had, freeing Kakashi (who was caught in this water bubble.
But from then on... Naruto gets more and more stupid in fighting techniques ans plans...
At the Zabuza time... he was going to become some fighting genius...
But it seems to be over now...
I think the reason that everything changed in tactics is because the show is more power based now, it's all about Bijuu, chakra, and crazy bloodlines with crazy one shot jutsu.
naruto's intuition was great at the time, when he nearly killed the bunny kawarimi
I guess it depends on when the person who is using the Chidori ends the attack. Like if Sasuke really decided that Naruto was dead then he lets Chidori go, then *poof* it turns out to be a kawarimi it would work, but if he made a clone then it wouldn't since he would notice.
