if i recall kiba ate a 'undisclosed named' food pill
while in the sasuke retrivial act, some (i forgot who) gave soldior pills to his friends and ate one himself

Naruto isn't smart, but he is clever under pressure. I guess this could be accomplished one day if Naruto learns how to do a perfected Kage Bushin(which could happen) That allows the clone to sustain itself without naruto's chakra maybe like the Itachi and kisame clones except instead of using dead bodies and having to control them mentally, he creates a copy of himself with his chakra, and maybe the clone keeps 20 or so percent of Naruto's chakra until it dies or is absorbed back. I know that's how Kage Bushin works now sort of, but this will be on a bigger scale and use even more chakra.
If this happened though it will probably be later when he is fully mastered using his chakra and Kyuubi's. I don't think it would be possible with a Kage Bushin though because all the Jounins could do that then.

He also ate on during the fight with naruto which did that same thing, and that was a soldier pill.

But you do realize that that would mean Naruto should be fully aware of what each and every single one of his clones is doing at the same time. That would mean hundreds of multiple perspectives being handled by one person.

Imagine a sphere covered in dots. Focus on one dot. Then imagine that you had a hundred of you each focusing on one dot on that sphere. You would be in essence looking at the sphere from everywhere.

Hmm, then maybe its different, since if it was like you said then wouldnt that overload the real narutos mind?

I think that each clone come out knowing what naruto knows and what he wants to do, after that they're pretty much on thier own, but at the same time naruto knows where they are and what they're doing, ,but at the same time he doesnt have a direct feed of everything they're aware of(like vision or thinking).

This makes sense since naruto sometimes talks to his clones and he wasnt sure if kakashi was one of his clones realy early on in the series.

I dunno, maybe Im just an idiot.

when Zabuza was still around, when the bunshin leaves a certain range from the creator the creator loses control and I beleive the clone disipates. I'm not sure if Kage Bunshins are that different.
For this to happen, a new type of bunshin may be neccasary.

Aside: James was pretty cool. Pity we don't really see him all that much anymore.

I think that was only for the Mizu bunshin no jutsu that Zabuza was using.

That's another thing, most Bunshins seem to use another element in order to cut down on chakra consumption. Do we have anything official on this, or is everything just logical specualtion?
I mean, the Kage Bunshin is such a high level Jutsu that it pretty much uses chakra and will to make the clone. Or maybe it uses shadows for substance?

shadows don't have substince, the Kage Bunshins probably use something like air that's ubiquitous.
