Thread: Did Konoha try to use the Kyuubi?

I believe the reason why the Fourth sealed the Kyuubi inside of Naruto was in order to preserve its power. I think that the Leaf are no different then the Sand, I believe they periodically unseal the Kyuubi in order to try to tap its power to their advantage. This would explain why he didn't destory its soul and it would also explain why the Kyuubi appears from time to time. The explanation maybe that the mangaka just wants to leave that part blank in order provide more room for the story to grow meh comments... If you are going to refute this which is what the forums are for pls offer an alternate explanation for the sake of the discussion.

No way, we know dat Yondaime did it for for protecting Naruto(as Jiraiya says so) and Konoha cos' unlikely sand, konoha have been attacked by Kyuubi.

That is impossible. Kyubi's powers can not be controlled, and Konoha people are terrified about him.

i agree. kyuubi's a demon. how can you control a demon? in fact, see the thread in 9 legendary beast. each one can cause nature's disaster. and i think i remember that the manga says something about the beast attack the village first. yondaime use the jutsu to seal the beast. why seal it? coz u can't kill it.

\But i'm curious bout' one thing: why seal it on a boy? i mean, sandaime seal the first and second and then try to seal orochimaru in himself, so that he died and the soul of the sealed forever tortured by the death god. if yondaime only intends to seal the kyuubi, why not seal it on himself just like sandaime? why a boy?

maybe because............................. naruto is his son and he wanted him to have the kyuubi so he could be strong =)

mabey it's cuz kyuubi's is a large beast and it's hard to destory it's soul where as people's is much easier. Thats y he had to place inside someones body.

Notice I said try to use its power think about how desperate Konoha would be in a time of war they would try to use everything they had to win. Plus all you would have to do is release the Kyuubi on a battlefield and that would be the end of everyone present their judgement would be clouded by there need for victory then dealing with Kyuubi is left to the footsoldiers as the people who made the decision to release him sit back and wait for results. The Fourth may even have planned to develop and use the seal technique b\c this may have been their final plan they release the Kyuubi defeat the enemy then he seals it and dies for the vililage.

There are a couple of answers which seem most likely to me:

1) Yondaime wished to utilise the Kyuubi with Naruto, creating a ninja who can defend the village in future and be essential in wars.

2) Yondaime couldn't seal the Kyuubi within himself, thus killing it, becase it was too powerful. It has unlimited chakra, according to the legend of the Nine Beasts, so I would assume it'd put up a hell of a fight, so sealing it into a vessel was the only option.
