oh yeah and i haven't heard anything from amanda woodward or hot cross
(hot cross is on my list, but i've only just heard of AW now)
thanks for those
yeah, I love Burden of Reflecting by Saetia. It's just that beginning that gets me. singing...speed up.....BOOM PSYCHOTIC SCREAMING. and for Non-objective, I just love the end of the that first 3 or so minutes, where the vocalist just starts coming in silently, and builds up, then just hits with an explosion. Also, you know Off Minor? The other band with Saetia members (3 of them). They're alright, I much prefer Hot Cross though.
Also, I'll mention them since I've seen them labeled emo, mewithoutYou. The best christian band ever (and I'm no christian). January 1979 by them = winner.
Geez, ashcore, ever heard of the "edit" button? You have a triple post AND a double post in the same thread.
Well, ignoring that little exchange there, ash, I'm betting you know who Say Anything is right? If not, shame on you. They get labeled as emo, but I think punk just fits it better.
Max Bemis = brilliant.
I don't think I'd class any of the bands I listen to as true emo but then classification hardly matters. As long as I like the music, I'll listen to it.
Would Death Cab For Cutie fit into Nu-Emo..?
yes, i love say anything (at least what i've heard, is a real boy). i had one of their songs stuck in my head earlier... have you heard their earlier stuff?Originally Posted by rubberluffy
and yeah, punk is definitely a part of it, but there's something else...it doesn't do by itself
everyone agrees he's brilliant
Death Cab is just indie-pop. Nothing emo about them. Still, amazing and wonderful. Ben Gibbard = win.
And I have ...Is A Real Boy, and listened to earlier stuff, and I downloaded ...Was A Real Boy (Is with like 6 extra songs). Good stuff, especially Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too.
