the LP originates from Gramophone records, being full albums at 33 & 1/3RPM, and 12" in size. they could play for 25 mins on each side and max. so no singels or EP's here. BTW an EP is an extended play album, running at 45 RPM and 12" in size. they were shorter, but had better quality. They had roughly 16 mins per side.

True, but when people talk about EP's these days it is mostly in reference to live albums.

Valleyman, EP is still used to say that an album is not as long as a LP (now commonly known as an album) should be, but bigger than a single. people just dont use this terminology any more.

True, but most bands no longer make EP's in the traditional sense. The only band that readily comes to mind is perhaps Modest Mouse. So, when bands make Live albums the often refer to them as EP's.

I agree. My dad still has the original record and it still sounds great.

Speak/Breath, Time, Money, Us and Them, and Brain Damage make this album the best album ever.

On a second note, if you like this album, Wish You Were Here is also a great album. Check it out.
