Since I'm a huge fan of his, allow me, Yngwie Malmsteen. for those of us who aren't swedish, thats prounounced like E-vay.
Im swedish but im almost positive that hes last name is Malmsten not Malmsteen, cuz Malmsten is a common name in sweden, and words with 2 e's like in his name is not common in sweden...
I've got his Album right here, and thats what it says.
    Need more?
nah sorry my bad, however thats an very unusal swedish last name though
There's always the possibility that he changed it when he went to America.

I'm kinda stuck on the whole "Jimi is different 'cause he's dead" story.. his music would not be 'lost in his time' just because he died in his time, his music would of kept up with the time because it was the time. I love his music but I love too many to call a favourite. The "greatest-and-most-favouritist-live-preformance" would have to go to John Butler of the "John Butler Trio" sure he's no Vai or Vaughn but give him a shot and if you can hear him live!!! (what I would have done to hear Jimi live <3333 )

Nancy Wilson I love how she plays the guitar. Crazy On You in my opinion has one of the grestest guitar intros of all time.

I tend to like guitar players with emotion, so I lean towards those like:

-John Frusciante, From Red Hot chilie Peppers, but I prefer his solo songs.
    -Dave Murray, from Iron Maiden
    -Jeff Beck
    -Kaki King
    I also like
    -John Pettruci, Dream Theater (sp?)
    -Mikael Akerfeldt, Opeth
    -Ty Tabor, King's X
    -Al Di Meola
