Thread: Miscellania on who wat and where of trance

so i hope there's some fans of trance out there... but i would like the opinion of fellow ST denizens on certain "things." also, post your miscellania and questions regarding the genre in general! i find that most of the people on these forums have words of wisdom ^_^

her's some for starters:

1) is it me or is tiesto getting way to Mainstream? (if trance will ever be mainstream in the u.s.) to me he seems to not churn out the awesomeness of previous albums...

2)What in your opinion, is the better-clubs or ginormous raves?

3)vocal trance or lyricless?

4) what in your opinion is superior? american "techno" (i.e., stuff that came out of the early techno scene in detroit along with stuff from american based artists) or the Eurodance stuff? or is ther a difference at all?

5)for those who like raves, wat is the best rave you have ever attended? plz give year and artists that played^__^

6) for those fans who reside outside of the u.s., is trance popular in europe and asia? thats wat i can infer from top charts in foreign countries and the fact that all the artists i listten to are always loaded w/ gigs in ibiza or some esoteric european/asian super venue.

1)Yeah it does seem like Tiesto's work has been a bit more "mainstream" lately, though personally I prefer Armin Van Buuren anyway.

2)Clubs or "private raves" Hehe. My friends and I came up with this fun(ny) way of raving. We'd get a bunch of people together when it's dark outside, drive to like a park or something, and park all of our cars close together. One of us gets an ipod or something with an FM transmitter (see where I'm going?), we set all of our cars to the same radio frequency, crank up the volume and turn on the emergency lights.

3)No preference, I like both.

4)Meh I don't think about what's "superior" or whatever, just listen to the music and have fun.
