Thread: Coldplay.

Anyone who likes these guys, make sure you go grab a free copy of "Violet Hill" (off their upcoming album, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends), because it's great.

I might have fallen in love with them back when A Rush of Blood to the Head came out, but I've got to say I really like the direction their sound is moving in. Anyone else in this boat?

Nope, they're active all right. New album comes out in June. I'm definitely picking it up. :3

Wow, I too was unaware of their new album. I'll check it out.

As for the evolution of their music, I totally agree. I think I checked out Coldplay after hearing Clocks or Yellow or something about the Sea, but I got hooked after (though, most of the people I know hate it for some reason).

People hate Coldplay cause of that reference in the 40 year old virgin movie.

Really though, everyone who says they hate it secretly listen to at least a few of their songs.

Their songs in this album are beautiful. I really love Viva La Vida.

I just got Viva la Vida. I enjoyed it, but I haven't gotten into the music as much for some reason.

Nah it's b/c they wanted to be like Radiohead.

Since that plan went in flames, they now want to be like Filter.

I don't know why but ever since that lead singer grew his hair more he somehow reminds of the guy from Filter.

Yeah, I don't want to come off as a dick, but if Radiohead are to be compared to The Beatles then Coldplay would be like The Monkees but without the humor.
