I just listened to Paramore's album... Pretty ok. Nothing to make me flip out though.

It's like saying beat means the same as eat.

Basically to lose to Avril Lavigne you'd probably have had to have raped abd brutally murdered my entire family, taken pictures of the act, some how drugged me and then had these pictures tattooed onto my body so I could never ever push the images out of my head. That being said, Paramore actually aren't too bad, being that the singer has good voice and in one video looks pretty cute. Therefore a glorious victory for Paramore.
okay-i 100% also agree about the avril lavigne part. girlfriend is one of the most annoying song ever and i struggle to see how people find it addictive and catchy or even how they consider her punk...
i'd rather listen to chalk scraping than that song
and i'll edit that...blink was an awesome pop-punk band XD
I'd tend to think of it as the sound when the term was originally applied. If it (d)evolved over time then the new thing is no longer given the same term as the old. To use your logic I could describe Scandinavian battle metal bands as Blues.
The difference between The Sex Pistols and Sum41 is not nearly as wide as lets say... Loius Armsrtrong and whatever. You're just being dramatic.
I didn't say it was - I was following that reasoning to it's conclusion. My point still stands though;
Sum 41 - In too deep
The Sex Pistols - Anarchy in the UK
Also on a side note, it's interesting to see that Sum 41 appear to have regressed back to their original style since Dave Bash left.
i don't like paramore or avril, but i'll go with paramore 'cause they're less annoying.
Of course the punk style and tone(ramones,sex pistols) would always be different from the one because of the boom of technology. So we can't really compare them to each other. I agree blink182 and sum41 rocks!!!They're like the new age of punk!
